San Francisco child protective services is investigating a mother who sparked international outrage this week after telling a national television audience that she had injected her 8-year-old daughter’s face with Botox to make her more competitive in beauty pageants.
HOUSTON — Authorities have arrested a sex assault suspect accused of giving a teen HIV and STDs. Kelton Tyson was arrested at an apartment complex in the 9200 block of Pagewood in west Houston. Tyson is charged with two counts of sexual abuse of a child. He is accused of raping a 16-year-old boy several times between October 2009 and 2010 when they lived at the same apartment complex.

SAN DIEGO — A recent La Jolla High School graduate was shot and killed Wednesday night after being lured by robbers with a phony Craigslist ad, police said. Officers responding to a report of gunfire found the 18-year-old man slumped over the wheel of his vehicle in the 3000 block of Artemia Way about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to San Diego police.

BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ– Police have found the body of a Florence, NJ, teenager who has been missing since Monday, according to officials. On Friday, a New Jersey canine unit found the Sarah Townsend, 18, at 1:15 p.m. in a pond in Green Acres Park where her abandoned car was discovered hours after she disappeared, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi.

BRIDGEPORT — A local funeral director got a shock when police said a slide show of the deceased was accidentally substituted with photos of child pornography. Josue Rivera, 38, who police said provided the photos, was arrested Tuesday morning by members of the U.S. Marshal Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force and charged with first-degree possession of child pornography.
Florida —- Twenty-two men were arrested in a Polk County underage sex sting called “Operation Last House Call“. These men arrived at an undercover house thinking they were going to have sex with children. Fake ads had been placed on various sites offering sex with children between the age of 9 – 14 in a “coming of age ceremony”.

SAN JACINTO, Calif. — Three members of one Southland family are accused of molesting four children repeatedly over the past two years. Ronald Hurley Sr. 47, his son Ronald Jr. 22, and the younger Hurley’s wife, Monica Silva, 29, were each arrested on suspicion of lewd acts with a child, continual sexual abuse and forced penetration.

A Seattle man who has worked as a minister, counselor and foster parent is charged with raping and molesting children. Police began investigating in April when a 21-year old man came forward to accuse Timothy Dampier of molesting him when he was a boy, 10-to-13 years earlier. According to court papers, Dampier admitted to detectives that he molested several children about ten years ago.
