A former Walton County Sheriff’s Deputy will be going to prison for abusing his infant daughter last year. Judge Kelvin Wells sentenced Jerid Day to 15 years in prison after April’s conviction of child abuse and child neglect. The courtroom testimony was quite emotional. Day’s uncle took the stand telling the judge that the former Walton County Deputy suffered job-related post-traumatic stress disorder.

Wilbur K. Sexton of Wright City was charged May 23 with first-degree child molestation and child kidnapping. A 66-year-old Wright City man has been charged with child molestation and kidnapping. Wilbur K. Sexton, of the 17000 block of Park Drive, was charged May 23 with first-degree child molestation and child kidnapping. Both charges are felonies. He was being held in Warren County jail in lieu of $100,000 cash-only bond.

CHANDLER, Ariz. – Police have released video of a Chandler woman after investigators say she stole some items from a Walmart, and ended up facing several other charges after surveillance video caught her committing even more crimes. A Walmart at Arizona Avenue and the Loop 202 in Chandler shows surveillance video that police say is 23-year-old Nicci Paige Rounsaville. She has a child in her arms as she is shoplifting.

We may never know what the state’s child welfare workers did for 8-year-old Christiana Glenn, or if they could have saved her. The abused Irvington girl’s death has opened an investigation into the actions of the state’s Division of Youth and Family Services, but the results are usually not made public. Campbell police are searching for a 35-year-old man they believe severely abused his ex-girlfriend’s 3-year-old daughter. The 15-year-old son of the man, identified as George Rodriguez,  found the girl rolled up in a carpet in Rodriguez’s garage at his home in the 1300 block of Pollard Road two weeks ago, police Capt. Charley Adams said. The child is now in protective custody.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Stephen Huggins, 24, and Candice Barnes, 28, both of Cleveland, were arraigned this week on charges of endangering children, felonious assault and intimidation of a crime victim in the beatings of two, pre-teen children. They are in the Cuyahoga County Jail on $250,000 bond each.

Jake Ormerod has admitted to grooming and having sex with girls as young as 13 on Facebook as part of a paedophile gang.

The 19-year-old, from Torquay in Devon, is facing 13 charges at Exeter Crown Court following his exploitation of at least eight girls.Vulnerable teens were targeted on Facebook and then plied with alcohol and drugs, before being subjected to sexual abuse. The court heard how the gang had been well-known in the city among homeless children.

SILVER CITY – An Arenas Valley man will spend 11 years in prison following a plea agreement on charges of criminal sexual contact and child abuse that could have sent him to prison for 36 years. Larry Bledsoe, 55, pleaded guilty to three counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor under the age of 13, a third-degree felony, and two counts of abuse of a child, second offense, a second-degree felony in connection to an incident in March 2010 during which he abused a 3-month old male infant.

GLENVILLE — Police have arrested the supervisor of a child abuse hotline for allegedly selling marijuana out of her home with three children, all under the age of 6, living at the residence. Glenville police charged Kristen Trapalis, 29, and Richard Dickenson, 39, with endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of marijuana after police found four pounds of the drug in the couple’s kitchen, living room and a safe inside their home at 604 S. Holmes St.
