Fourth arrest in child rape case involving East Texas pastor

ANDERSON COUNTY, TX — Shocking new details and another arrest in a child molestation scandal that dates back to 2009. Last week sheriff’s deputies arrested a 12-year-old Anderson County girl’s parents for allegedly allowing abuse. Now 25-year-old Karen Sapp, a family friend, faces charges for the same thing. The sheriff’s department says arrests could still be coming in the case.

DNA NEEDED TO PROVE CHILD RAPE

SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane police have served Planned Parenthood with a search warrant for an aborted fetus in hopes of proving a child rape case through the use of DNA. CBS affiliate KREM-TV reports that a 15-year-old girl reported that she became pregnant by a 21-year-old man in early August. When her parents learned about the pregnancy from her school at the end of the month, they took her to Planned Parenthood for an abortion.

HALEYVILLE, Alabama — Dan Busby Jr. and his wife, Kristy Ann Busby, already charged with rape and sodomy of a 12-year old girl in Franklin County, now face similar charges in Colbert County, the TimesDaily newspaper reports. Dan Busby, 58, of Haleyville, was charged Friday with first-degree rape, second-degree sodomy and sexual abuse of a child under 10, while Kristy Ann Busby, 34, was charged with first-degree rape, for having admitted knowing her husband was having a sexual relationship with a 9-year-old girl.

ALMOST 3,000 former residents of reformatory schools and orphanages submitted applications for abuse compensation in the two months before the final September 16th deadline. The Residential Institutional Redress Board was set up in 2002 to deal with former residents of 139 State-linked industrial and reformatory schools, orphanages and children’s homes who suffered abuse.

Forsyth County — Forsyth County deputies were called to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in reference on a possible child abuse case, Wednesday night. Deputies spoke with a doctor who told them a 3 month-old infant had been transported by EMS to the Emergency Room earlier that afternoon.

POLICE CONCERNED THERE MAY BE MORE VICTIMS

GILBERT, AZ–A Valley father is behind bars accused of molesting teenage girls. Police have identified three alleged victims. The concern is there may be more.   Police made the arrest on Wednesday. Some of the details of the alleged sexual abuse were released on Friday in court documents.  Gilbert police arrested 39-year-old John Parker. He is behind bars being held on 13 counts including child molestation, sexual abuse and sexual conduct with a minor.

SANDY, OR–A former elementary school volunteer is behind bars charged with sexually abusing a child from the Oregon Trail School District in Sandy.  On Sunday, police arrested 43-year-old Kenneth Cartlidge on one count of sexual abuse.  They believe he abused an elementary school student, but officials say the alleged abuse happened on a weekend, not during school hours.

CONROE, Texas — A mother has been accused of stabbing her sleeping 13-year-old daughter.Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies said a man took his daughter to Conroe Regional Medical Center about 1:30 a.m. Thursday.The girl had been stabbed with a knife multiple times as she slept in her home on Kingsway Drive, detectives said. She suffered wounds to her neck and back, investigators said.

SCOTTSBLUFF, Nebraska — The search for 8-year-old Kerra Wilson has ended with the discovery of her body in a remote area of Sioux County. In the early evening hours of Thursday, Sept. 22, investigators from the Nebraska State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) were notified by a local rancher alerting them to an area that he felt needed to be examined. The area was located several miles north of Mitchell. Upon their arrival investigators located what is believed to be the body of 8-year-old Kerra Wilson.

RIVERSIDE, CA — A teenager convicted of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old boy with a toy light saber has been sentenced to 30 years to life in state prison. Javier Enrique Perez, 19, was found guilty by a jury of one felony count of sexual penetration by foreign object by force, one felony count of aggravated sexual assault of a child, and two felony counts of forcible lewd acts on a child.
