IRMO– Two suspects officials say were involved in the abuse of a 2-month-old girl have been arrested in Lexington County.The sheriff’s department says 18-year-old Tameeka Wallace and 21-year-old Benson Essien turned themselves in Friday morning.Investigators say the pair is charged with unlawful conduct towards a child by legal custodian.

Oct. 14– The Kansas City, Missouri, Catholic Diocese and Bishop Robert Finn have been criminally charged with failing to report another clergyman’s suspected child abuse, a state prosecutor said. “Finn and the diocese — between Dec. 16, 2010, and May 11, 2011 — had reasonable cause to suspect that a child may be subjected to abuse,” by Father Shawn Ratigan, said Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker in a statement today citing the indictment.

GULFPORT, MS–An outbreak of violence in a normally quiet Orange Grove neighborhood ended with three people dead, a community in shock, and a lot of unanswered questions. Authorities say they believe 70-year-old Paul Buckman killed 45-year old Karen Denise Ferguson and her 21-year old son Trevor Cole Ferguson before turning the gun on himself. Less than three months ago, the Ferguson family filed sexual battery charges against Paul Buckman for allegedly molesting one of their family members–He was out on a $50,000 bond.

CLOVER – A substitute teacher is facing charges after she reportedly assaulted a student at a York County middle school. According to the York County Sheriff’s Office, a school resource officer at Clover Middle School was approached by students between class who said they had just seen a substitute teacher assault a 13-year-old student during class.

A highly regarded scientist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta has been arrested over allegations of bestiality and child molestation. The woman’s night watchman boyfriend is also facing charges, police said. Dr. Kimberly Quinlan Lindsey, 44, of Decatur, was arrested in DeKalb County Sunday after a six-week investigation into allegations she molested a young boy. Lindsey has been arrested and charged with two counts of child molestation and one count of bestiality.

A Soddy-Daisy man has been indicted by the Hamilton County grand jury on a charge of child rape. The parents of a 12-year-old girl told Soddy-Daisy police in June that Earl Boles, the 67-year-old manager of Earl’s Game Room at 9619 Dayton Pike, had raped their daughter at the pool hall.
