DEARBORN HEIGHTS — A convicted rapist this week was arrested on child pornography charges, and investigators believe he may also be involved in child-trafficking. Sonny Robert Miller, 52, was arraigned in U.S. District Court Thursday following a three-month investigation by U.S. Marshals. The investigation kicked off in March when Miller was arrested for home invasion in Dearborn. During detainment police found on Miller’s cell phone alleged pornographic videos of minors and sexually explicit text messages. One of the officers who reviewed the pictures recognized some of the children as living at Miller’s Dearborn Heights house, which is on Roosevelt Street near O.W. Best Middle School.  READ MORE HERE

Woman shook three-month-old child blind then dumped her with boyfriend while she met internet stranger for sex

A woman who blinded a three month-old girl when she tried to stop her crying has been jailed for three years. Agnieszka Barcentewicz, 29, left the three-month-old infant with severe brain damage after shaking her four or five times, Snaresbrook Crown Court heard. The child, now two-and-a-half, is at a greater risk of sudden death in childhood and predicted to have a shorter life expectancy than average as a result of the incident on April 18, 2010. Monsignor convicted of endangerment in groundbreaking trial about his mishandling of sex-abuse claims

Monsignor William Lynn was found guilty on Friday of one count of endangering the welfare of a child, making him the highest-ranking U.S. Roman Catholic official convicted in the church child sex abuse scandal. The jury acquitted Lynn, who oversaw hundreds of priests in the Philadelphia Archdiocese, on two other counts, conspiracy and another charge of child endangerment. The jury deliberated 13 days before reaching the mixed decision in the trial of Lynn, 61, who for 12 years served as secretary of the clergy. Karate instructor arrested for child molestation accused twice before

CHANDLER, Ariz. — A Valley karate instructor is accused of child molestation, and this isn’t the first time he’s been under investigation by police. Scott Alan Flood, 47, of Chandler, is currently being held at the Maricopa County Jail on two counts of child molestation.  READ MORE HERE

A professional clown in the River Valley was arrested on child pornography charges Wednesday morning in Fort Smith, according to police. Thomas Harold Morgan, 47, who bills himself as “Sondance the Clown,” was arrested on charges of distributing, possessing, or viewing child porn. Through an online investigation, the Fort Smith Police Department’s computer forensic team was able to detect someone at a residence in the 500 block of S. 20th was downloading the images through a well-known, internet file-sharing network, according to police.  READ MORE HERE

Clarinda Cox says she came home from work on June 1 to find her son Justin waiting in the driveway, and that he was very upset. LOS ANGELES — An ex-con was sentenced to death on Thursday for the 2003 rape and murder of a 16-year-old girl, whose bound and burned body was discovered in an alley. A jury convicted Latece Megale Brown on April 11 of 17 felony counts, including the first-degree murder of Jacquies Williams and the kidnapping, rape and sodomy of five other victims, who ranged in age from 14 to 25 years old.  READ MORE HERE

Robert Kelly, a psychologist from Oxford Michigan, plead guilty this week to beating his 20-year-old daughter Megan to death with a baseball bat while she slept on May 9, 2011. According to the NY Daily News, Kelly went to police almost immediately after the crime, and police dispatcher Tony Van Houten testified that Kelly responded to his question, “Do you know who did it” with “Yes, I did.”  READ MORE HERE

SHINER, Texas — Hearing his 5-year-old daughter crying from behind a barn, a father ran and discovered the unthinkable: A man molesting her. The father pulled the man off his daughter, authorities say, and started pummeling him to death with his fists.
