A Douglas County man was sentenced to 40 years after pleading guilty to charges in a child abuse case, Assistant District Attorney spokesman David Emadi said. Carmichael Crane was charged with two counts of cruelty to children and one count of aggravated battery for injuries he inflicted on his girlfriend’s daughter in November 2014. LONDON – Detectives investigating the disappearance of a baby boy who went missing 11 years ago have arrested two women on suspicion of murder after the boy’s remains were found in boxes in a shed. The baby, has not been seen for more than a decade, but police have now made three arrests after the discovery of the skeleton in a garden shed of a home in West Hendon, north London. Officers have arrested a 31-year-old woman, named locally as mother-of-six Victoria Gayle, and a woman named as her former foster carer, Margaret, 50. Alabama — The stepmother of a 9-year-old girl pleaded guilty to a reduced charge in the child’s running death Friday under a deal with prosecutors that let her avoid additional time in custody. Jessica Mae Hardin, 31, pleaded guilty to aggravated child abuse for the mistreatment of Savannah Hardin, according to a statement from Etowah County prosecutors. HOUSTON — A Houston-area teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old boy who impregnated her has surrendered at a suburban jail. Harris County authorities had issued an arrest warrant for 24-year-old Alexandria Vera, an English teacher in the Aldine School District. The boy was an eighth-grader she met last summer. She appeared Wednesday at the jail in adjacent Montgomery County. RIO DE JANEIRO – Police in Rio de Janeiro said on Monday they are certain a 16-year-old girl was gang raped earlier this month, but added that it will be hard to prove her allegation that she was assaulted by more than 30 men. Two suspects in the case were placed in custody on Monday, authorities said. Washington – A Kelso mother is sharing her story about the search for her missing husband all while he was under investigation for allegedly raping their three daughters. Cowlitz County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Robert Maurice Scott, Jr. late Wednesday night at a home 20 miles northeast of his home in Toutle. A probable cause affidavit shows Scott admitted to inappropriately touching his oldest daughter, but denies touching his younger two daughters. A priest and former president of a prestigious Catholic high school on Long Island in New York has been suspended after the order says allegations of sexual abuse of a student were deemed credible. The Marianist order, also known as the Society of Mary, said Friday it conducted a ‘comprehensive investigation.’ Details of the alleged abuse have no been revealed. They say Reverend James Williams has denied the allegations. Prosecutors say the statute of limitations for misdemeanor sexual abuse expired in 2013. GEORGIA – The mother of a special needs student who reported being raped is now offering a reward to catch the attacker.  The mother says Dougherty County School Police told her they hit a brick wall in their investigation. The student’s family hopes a reward will lead to new information. The mother of the 15 year old special needs child says she wants justice for her daughter. A 66-year-old convicted sex offender is facing similar charges again following an alleged incident in Sugarcreek Twp. Harold Stookey has been indicted on four counts of raping a child under the age of 13 as well as two counts of gross sexual imposition, according to an indictment. Stookey is out of jail on a $100,000 bond and has entered a plea of not guilty to the charges. DELAWARE – A karate instructor in Delaware is charged with several counts of rape and sexual abuse, and detectives say there may be other alleged victims. New Castle County police report they just learned about the allegations against Carlos Villa in March, but they go back years. They say “a victim disclosed to a trusted adult that Carlos touched her inappropriately multiple times between December 2010 and March 2011” and that adult contacted detectives. FBI agents seized numerous records and equipment from two sites in Kiryas Joel on Thursday in connection with a secretly recorded video of a principal and a young boy that has fueled extensive media coverage and prompted a child-abuse investigation. The FBI released no information about the search warrants it executed at the United Talmudical Academy boys school on Getzil Berger Boulevard and at the Kirays Joel Public Safety Department’s trailer on Schunnemunk Road. But an Orange County law enforcement source and a Kiryas Joel source who spoke with FBI agents on Thursday confirmed the searches stemmed from the leaked recording, which was posted on Facebook and distributed in the Hasidic community through WhatsApp less than two weeks ago. Jimmy Wallace Wall is facing multiple charges for child rape and molestation allegations from a former student at Madison Elementary School in Olympia. The accuser, who is now 18-years old, stated Wall raped him on multiple occasions during the 2007-08 school year. The man said he was 10-years old when the abuse occurred. He told Olympia police Wall sexually abused him during school trips to local parks and in a shed located in the field directly behind the boy’s school. TEXAS – A developmentally disabled teen was found brutally murdered and her uterus removed earlier this year. Authorities are now releasing new details in the Feb. 10 slaying of Holli Jeffcoat in Lubbock, Texas, and the alleged sexual abuse she endured for years. Jeffcoat was found stabbed to death with cuts to her throat and stomach, the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office confirmed. Her killer attempted to conceal the homicide by setting the girl’s trailer home on fire. Cosby loses appeal, will face sexual assault charge – Bill Cosby’s attempt to avoid facing a sexual assault charge was ended Monday by a Pennsylvania appeals court.
