Sentenced to Only 6-Months Prison

A former middle school music teacher has been jailed for six months after pleading guilty to six counts of statutory rape. Devri DePriest, 27, of Gallatin, Tennessee was sentenced on Monday and is serving her sentence in Sumner County Jail. Upon her release in January she will have to serve 10 years probation, she also had to forfeit her teaching license as a result of pleading guilty to a felony. Duncanville, AL  -Anessa Dawn Olive Ferguson, a 37-year-old teacher at Maxwell Elementary School, was jailed Wednesday after she allegedly had “deviate” sexual intercourse with an underage family member. According to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation was launched last December after a family member reported that sexual contact had taken place between Ferguson and a minor family member. Family Member Arrested for Murder in Death of Missing Menifee Boy

MENIFEE, CA — A 16-year-old family member was arrested on suspicion of murder Wednesday just hours after the discovery of human remains near the home of Terry Smith, an 11-year-old autistic boy whose disappearance prompted a four-day search effort in Menifee. Detectives received a tip around 1 a.m. Wednesday alerting them to possible remains in the 38000 block of Helen Lane. “Officers on arrival located a partial grave containing exposed human remains,” Riverside County Sheriff’s Capt. A child’s death tears apart a family. Todd Combs, of St. Louis, Missouri, began serving his sentence, a year in jail and two years probation, for serving liquor to seven children at a picnic during which one of the children, Combs’ stepson, 12-year old Christopher Marks,  drowned. READ MORE HERE

Neighbors react to death of boy found hanging from clothesline

MINNEAPOLIS – Minneapolis police continue to interview witnesses, including small children, as they try to piece together the events surrounding the tragic death of a 9-year-old boy. The boy, who visiting from Georgia, was found hanging from a clothesline on the city’s north side last Thursday, police said. Escanaba couple pleads guilty in child torture case

Shackled and handcuffed, 46-year-old Susan Marie Bardo and 47-year-old Carl James Pellinen entered the Delta County Circuit courtroom Thursday to enter pleas stemming from the confinement and torture of Bardo’s teenage son. Susan Bardo pled guilty to Child Abuse in the First Degree and she pled guilty to Torture. In a separate appearance on Thursday, Carl Pellinen pled no contest to Criminal Sexual Conduct in the First Degree, and he also pled guilty to Child Abuse in the First Degree. Palestinian children tortured, used as shields by Israel

GENEVA – A United Nations human rights body accused Israeli forces on Thursday of mistreating Palestinian children, including by torturing those in custody and using others as human shields. Palestinian children in the Gaza and the West Bank, captured by Israel in the 1967 war, are routinely denied registration of their birth and access to health care, decent schools and clean water, the U.N. A western Pennsylvania man has been jailed on charges he tried to rape a 12-year-old boy at knife-point at his local YMCA. Online court records don’t list an attorney for 35-year-old Jason Michael Taylor, of Butler, who has been jailed since shortly after the alleged incident last Thursday. Police say Taylor put a knife to the boy’s throat and dragged him to a rest room where he started to undress the boy before he screamed and others responded. Police are looking for a Toledo man who is accused of raping children younger than 10 years old. Timothy Bragg, 24, of 729 Walnut St., is charged in Lucas County Common Pleas Court with seven counts of rape. According to an indictment, the suspect’s alleged victims are children younger than 10 at the time. Police Sgt. A therapist needs some help. 57-year old Mark P. Bernardini, of Westchester, New York,  a licensed clinical social worker, has been charged with the sexual abuse of a 12-year old male patient during a therapy session, just months after he was arrested for having sexual contact with a female patient during a counseling session. A man accused of rape and assaulting two young boys hanged himself before facing trial, an inquest has heard. Ian McManoman, 49, of The Old Co-op Building, Barclay Road, Longridge, was on bail, charged with 10 counts of rape, attempted rape and indecent assault, when he was found hanged in the loft of his flat on April 15. His suicide came less than a week after he first appeared at Blackburn Magistrates’ Court. He was due to appear at Preston Crown Court on April 24. A couple accused of trying to extort money from missing Madeleine McCann’s parents have been arrested at a hideaway in Portugal. Italian Danilo Chemello and his Portuguese girlfriend Aurora Pereira Vaz hit the headlines in 2007 after being seized in southern Spain over the alleged bid to get their hands on a £2.5 million reward offered for information on Madeleine’s whereabouts. The case never came to trial despite lurid reports about their past and the discovery of newspaper cuttings about Madeleine in their luxury home in Sotogrande, southern Spain.
