Police have launched a new investigation into Britain’s worst ever pedophile after an internal report revealed that officers failed to hunt down his sick accomplices. Millionaire William Goad was caged for life in 2004 for preying on boys as young as eight over the course of 35 years. He was said to have as many as 3,500 victims. Goad died last year in prison aged 68, but some of his victims have long suspected there were others involved in his child abuse ring who escaped the net. Their claims have now been backed by a police probe which said detectives focused so narrowly on Goad that they sidelined claims he had help. The report by Devon and Cornwall Police’s Professional Standards Department (PSD) said hundreds of possible new victims have come forward after his conviction but none had even been interviewed properly. A Roman Catholic priest who took sexually explicit photos of five young girls in his parish – including a two-year-old – has been sentenced to 50 years behind bars. Reverend Shawn Ratigan, 47, pleaded guilty to five counts of producing or attempting to produce child porn last year after church officials sent police flash drive from his laptop containing hundreds of images of children, most of them clothed, focusing on their crotch areas in 2011. Uncle charged with murder in stabbing death of 7-year-old niece

ST. LOUIS — A southern Illinois man was ordered jailed on $5 million bond Wednesday on charges he slashed and stabbed his 7-year-old niece after claiming, according to prosecutors, that she fell and pierced her neck on a stick and needed to be put “out of her misery.” Justin DeRyke, 22, faces three counts of first-degree murder. Prosecutors allege he stabbed Willow Long in the chest with a knife Sunday.

A 67-year-old who was convicted by a jury last month of having raped his son’s prom date was sentenced Monday to 35 years in prison.  Ismael Cruz faced a minimum 25-year term because of two prior trips to prison for driving while intoxicated. A Galveston man and his girlfriend are facing serious jail time if convicted of sexually abusing his 14-month-old granddaughter. According to FOX 26 in Houston, prosecutors said 34-year-old Jason Michael Grant told his girlfriend, 24-year-old Alisha Drake, to videotape him having sex with the baby. A Washington state couple were convicted of manslaughter Monday in the gruesome starvation and hypothermia death of a teenage girl they adopted from Ethiopia. A jury found Larry Williams, of Sedro-Woolley, guilty of first-degree manslaughter, while his wife, Carri Williams, was found guilty of homicide by abuse as well as manslaughter. The jury also convicted them both of assault and each faces a possible life sentence. Hana Williams died in May 2011 the backyard of the couple’s home, where she was forced to stay as part of a strict system of child-rearing outlined in a Christian parenting book. REDSTONE TOWNSHIP — A 27-year-old Fayette County man, who works delivering ice cream, is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a minor. Ronald Burwell III, 27, of Smithfield, is accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl who was working in his truck. The child and her mother came to the Uniontown Police Station to tell their story. A teenager ran over his girlfriend and left her lying in the road after finding out she was expecting his first child. Shaun Ruane, 19, had been in a relationship with Hayley Truelove for three months when she found out she was ten weeks pregnant and announced she wanted to keep the child. Bricklayer Ruana said he would stand by her but the next day erupted into a rage and ran over Miss Truelove, also 19, before driving off. A school cricket coach who had an 18-month affair with a teenage girl was jailed for eight years today. Glyn Thompson, 31, had sex with 14-year-old on his desk at the school where he worked, in his car and at both her family home and the family home he shared with the mother of his young son. The father of one from Burnley, Lancashire, taught at the town’s Stoneyholme Community Primary School. During the affair he bought a pregnancy test for the teenager to ensure she was not carrying his baby. Remains found in garage belonging to ex-boyfriend of Elaina’s mom

Police discovered “immature human skeletal remains” Thursday in a garage at the Toledo home where missing toddler Elaina Steinfurth was reportedly last seen. At a press conference Friday morning, Toledo Police Chief Derrick Diggs said an autopsy is being conducted to determine whether the remains are those of the 18-month-old who was reported missing on June 2. “We have found what we believe may be baby Elaina,” Diggs said. A Ponchatoula, La., woman was arrested Sept. 2 after she allegedly put her baby in an ice chest, closed the lid and sat idly by while the infant screamed in terror. According to police, a witnesses saw Jami Jo Ranson, 38, place her baby in the container — which also had a gas can in it — and did nothing as the child “continuously screamed.” Afraid for the child’s life, the witness stepped in and rescued the baby, then called Baton Rouge Police.
