Parents warned after three men convicted of grooming girls as young as 13

A senior detective has warned parents to monitor the social networks their children use after three men were convicted of grooming girls as young as 13 and exploiting them for sex. Six girls in total were exploited by taxi driver Shakil Munir, 32, and Sakib Ahmed, 19, after they were groomed over Facebook and BlackBerry Messenger. Another man, Ateeq Latif, 17, was found guilty of helping the commission of a child sex offence. Police found a ‘shocking amount of child pornography’ in the home of an Iowa doctor who was arrested for sexually abusing a five-year-old girl when she told her mom that he ‘tortures’ her. Dr Dennis Seaborn Jones, 68, of Council Bluffs, who has been a pediatrician for 19 years – and has been used in the past as an expert witness in child molestation court cases, giving him access to photographs related to those crimes – was arrested in May after a parent filed a complaint against him. The complaint came after the child told a parent that she no longer wanted to see Jones because of the ‘torture’ he inflicted.  READ MORE HERE

An officer in the U.S. Navy has been extradited from his deployment in Japan to face charges that he sexually abused pre-teen twin boys. Brock Mason of Norman, Oklahoma, was charged at Cleveland County District Court on Tuesday.  The 24-year-old is accused of five counts of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16, one count of lewd or indecent proposal to a child under 16, two counts of forcible sodomy, two counts of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor by use of technology and one count of contributing to the delinquency of minors. Teacher, 25, flees to Hong Kong

A 25-year-old school teacher has fled half-way around the world to Hong Kong after being charged with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy with autism in Maryland. Yee Tak Sharon Kui of Rockville who taught special needs students at Frost School in Wheaton is suspected of having sex with the boy at his own home while his parents were at church. Kui allegedly exchanged explicit text messages with the minor before driving to his home. During their first encounter, Kui was said to have ‘kissed the victim and fondled his penis’ and allegedly had sex with him during her second visit. READ MORE HERE

U.K. Police officers have been under investigation for rape, theft and possessing indecent images of children, new documents show. The shocking details were released by Nick Alston, Police and Crime Commissioner, yesterday showing 852 complaints were “finalized” byEssex Police between October 1, 2012 and September 30, 2013, with 9.5 per cent being upheld. The allegations have led to officers being arrested, being taken to court, facing disciplinary action and others being disproved. Mr Alston said many of the allegations were of “deep concern”. A convicted pedophile has been given permission to adopt a child in Sweden despite sexually abusing a five-year-old girl. Swedish authorities say the man, aged in his sixties, is now not in danger of re-offending. The man, from the town of Helsingborg, has committed more than 90 crimes (mostly fraud-related charges) including molesting a young girl from his neighborhood in 2004 according to The Local.  He was also suspected of raping a young teenage girl. He now wishes to adopt his 10-year-old stepson following the death of the boy’s mother, whom the man married in 2009.
