Canada Trio Accused of Horrendous Crimes Against Children
BARRIE, Ontario — An Orillia, Ont., woman charged with a slew of sex-related charges against children and animals has been placed into protective custody, her lawyer said. Kathryn Thompson, 19, made a brief appearance by video in Barrie court Wednesday. She is charged along with Avery Taylor, 20, of Orillia, and Shayne Lund, 22 of Penetanguishene, Ont. Lund faces 110 counts including counselling and conspiring to kidnap a child, making and selling child pornography, invitation to sexual touching, voyeurism, sexual assault and bestiality. The women are each facing 16 similar charges. Five alleged child victims have been identified between the ages of two and 10. The charges are so disturbing that the Crown attorney has given notice that it will be seeking dangerous offender sentences. READ MORE HERE
