BJS has developed a new data query tool for the FBI that improves access to the FBI’s UCR data and includes the latest available crime data (2009). The tool was developed for the FBI as part of on-going collaboration between the two agencies to improve crime data accessibility and provide information to the public. The ucrdatatool.gov website will replace the long-standing “data online” tool available via the BJS website. More information about methodology and best practices for using the new tool are available at http://www.UCRDataTool.gov/. The official OJP press release related to this new tool contains additional details about this collaboration.
