Boxing Legend Micky Ward Reveals Childhood Sex Abuse
Boxing legend Micky Ward, whose story inspired the Mark Wahlberg film The Fighter, has revealed he was sexually abused as a child. In his autobiography, the 46-year-old retired boxer revealed he was molested by a family friend between the ages of nine and 12 in his hometown of Lowell, Massachusetts. ‘He never asked me to do anything to him, but rather I was always on the receiving end of his advances,’ he wrote of the ‘homeless bum’ who was 10 years his senior.
