The baby sat alone for 16 hours in a hot third-floor room, strapped in a car seat in front of a TV with no food or water and wearing the same dirty diaper. Before baby Kayla died of dehydration and starvation, she likely screamed, squirmed and cried out for help. Her mother, Kimberly Ann Taschler, was two floors down in their Palmerton home smoking marijuana.
