Baby Girl Dies from Child Abuse Injuries
State Police investigating a death one trooper describes as the worse child abuse case she’s ever seen.
HILLDALE — Police are looking into an unsettling crime against a baby in Summers County where the child died as a result of abuse. That’s the word from the lead investigator in this case that’s been turned over to the W.Va. State Police Crimes Against Children Unit. Sgt. Melissa Clemmons says it’s the worst case of child abuse she’s ever seen. The scene of the crime is a single-wide mobile home off Route 3 in Hilldale. Clemons would not go into details of the multiple injuries suffered by the baby girl, but she says the child died as a result of her wounds.
