AMBER ALERT: MERCER CO. CHILD ABDUCTED, BELIEVED TO BE IN EXTREME DANGER
WEST VIRGINIA–An Amber Alert has been issued for an abducted child out of Mercer County. The West Virginia State Police are looking for 8-year-old Porshia Atwell, a white female, 4 feet 2 inches tall and 75 pounds.
The child was last seen in Camp Creek West Virginia and is believed to be in extreme danger. Authorities are not sure what the child was wearing when she was last seen. Authorities believe the child was abducted by her father, 39-year-old Tracy Lee Atwell. He is described as being 6 feet 2 inches tall and 180 pounds with hazel eyes.
Media outlets report Atwell came into his parent’s Camp Creek home, tied them up, admitted to killing his wife and then took off with his daughter. Police say they have located his wife’s body, though more details aren’t available at this time. Tracy and Porshia Atwell may be traveling in a white Jeep Cherokee Laredo with West Virginia license plate number 6C 3202. Tracy Atwell is considered armed and dangerous.
