7 shot in Douglas County including children; 5 dead
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Georgia – Seven people were shot in Douglas County Saturday afternoon. Five of those victims have now died. Deputies were called to Willow Tree Circle around 3 p.m. They found the shooting victims. Some of those shot are children. The youngest killed was seven years old. According to Lt. Glenn Daniel of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, two children were wounded and taken to the hospital. Many neighbors were shocked this happened in the Amber Forest Subdivision. When neighbors returned home from running errands, they knew something was wrong. “When we came in, we kept hearing police car after police car. We saw helicopters. We said something is going on,” said neighbor Geraldine Price. Investigators made a gruesome discovery. Sheriff’s deputies say the ex-husband of one of the victims drove to the neighborhood and parked down the street. From there, we’re told he walked up to the home where he started shooting. Deputies say some of the seven victims were found lying in the street. The rest were found at the home. READ MORE HERE
