A Camp Lejeune Marine is in jail, accused of raping a 12-year-old girl. Deputies say Master Sgt. Tyson Spencer of Jacksonville was arrested Wednesday afternoon. The 37-year-old is charged with first degree rape of a child, first degree sex offense with a child, two counts of indecent liberties with a child, and two counts of felony child abuse involving a sexual act. ALABAMA – A young girl was found dead outside her home on Monday morning. Jettie Ray Adams, 3, of Trafford, Alabama, died as a result of severe internal injuries and was found in a poll of her own vomit when medical personnel arrived on the scene. Her death has now been ruled a homicide, and the girl’s mother, Misty Lynn Wright, and her mother’s boyfriend, Johnathon Wayne Talley, have been arrested on charges of aggravated child abuse with severe injuries. A Florida woman allegedly killed her father and 6-year-old daughter and placed their dead bodies inside of a neighbor’s shed. On August 1, Cheyanne Jessie contacted the Polk County Sheriff’s Office to report that her 50-year-old father and 6-year-old daughter had been missing since July 18, police said in a news release. Jessie, 25, told detectives she had left her child in her father’s care and had received a text message from him saying he had a terminal illness and had less than a year to live. READ MORE HERE

A fifth police force has received allegations against Sir Edward Heath, the former prime minister at the centre of historical child sex claims. It was known that detectives in Wiltshire, London, Kent and Jersey were looking at sex abuse allegations linked to the late politician. Last night Hampshire confirmed that it was investigating claims. The force said: “We are investigating allegations, we have nothing further to add at this stage. “Please call the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000 or email help@nspcc.org.uk as they have dedicated staff in place to deal with victims or if you have information that may help police please call us via 101.” Sir Edward had already been named in connection with inquiries in London, Kent and Jersey. BEIJING – Police are searching for the mother of a newborn baby girl found wedged face-down and alive in a Beijing toilet on Sunday. A migrant construction worker from eastern China heard his neighbors calling for help. He followed police into the toilet, pulled out his phone and started recording. “Her head was upside down and her body was falling into the drain. We could only vaguely see her feet from the side,” Qian Feng, the local police chief, told the Beijing Times. Tonya Hughes was just shy of her 21st birthday on a spring day in 1990 when she was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Oklahoma City. She died five days later, but the investigation into her suspicious death led to a mystery—and a murder—that took decades to fully unravel. That’s because Tonya Hughes was not who anyone thought she was—and neither was her husband, Clarence Hughes, who now sits on death row in a Florida prison.
“The FBI has been chipping away at this one,” said Special Agent Scott Lobb, who began working the cold case investigation in 2013 out of the Bureau’s Oklahoma City Division. “There were a lot of peculiar twists to this case.” Tonya left behind a child, Michael Hughes. Her husband claimed he was Michael’s biological father, but shortly after Tonya died, Clarence gave Michael to Oklahoma state welfare officials and promptly disappeared. “He knew the truth would come out,” Lobb said, “and so he fled.” READ MORE HERE
Child abuse is when an adult—usually a parent, family member, caretaker, or someone else close to the family—hurts a child or teen, makes that youth feel worthless, has sexual contact with him or her, or does not provide adequate food, care, or shelter. Child abuse can happen to all types of kids and in all types of families. And it isn’t something that only happens to little kids: 32 percent of 14- to 17-year-olds in the United States have been abused or neglected in their lifetimes, and 28 percent have been sexually victimized.
From time to time, all parents and children have problems, but most parents and adults do not abuse children. There is no single reason why people abuse others. Some adults abuse children because they themselves were abused when they were children. Others just can’t handle their feelings in a healthy way; they might be worried about something, like a problem at work or not having enough money to pay their bills, and take it out on their kids. Drinking alcohol or using drugs can also make it hard for some people to control their actions.
No matter what the reason is for the adult’s behavior, it’s important to know that child abuse is never the child’s fault. READ MORE HERE

FARMINGTON HILLS, Michigan – The 15-year-old was with Timothy Allen Fulgenzi of Farmington Hills, 36, a convicted sex offender. Fulgenzi was arrested by authorities at the scene, according to police. Farmington Hills Police and the FBI had been looking for the Center Line girl. MODESTO, CA — A central California man accused of killing his mother, baby daughter and three others was about to be charged with the death last year of young boy when the five bodies were discovered, police said. Martin “Marty” Martinez had been under investigation since the Oct. 2 death of a toddler whose mother, Dr. Amanda Crews, was among the victims found Saturday afternoon in the Modesto home Martinez used to share with her. Authorities have not determined a motive or released how the five, including two girls, died.

WA – A popular teacher killed her husband and infant son over the weekend in an attempted double murder suicide. Erin Agren of Whatcom County, Washington shot her husband, Michael Jordan, and their 17-month-old son Miles before attempting to kill herself. She instead shot herself in the shoulder, and lay on the floor with her family’s dead bodies nearby for two days until she was discovered by a realtor who had arrived to show the house. The father of a three-month-old baby boy has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his son who was found unresponsive and with signs of physical trauma at a California home, authorities said. Responding officers reported to the Santa Ana residence on Friday night where they found the baby not breathing, Santa Ana police said.
