MURFREESBORO, Tennessee — A 31-year-old Murfreesboro woman was arrested Wednesday and charged with attempted first-degree murder after a failed attempt to end her pregnancy, according to a report from the Murfreesboro Police Department. Anna Yocca of Swindon Circle is accused of using a coat hanger to end her pregnancy in September, Detective Tommy Roberts reported. VIRGINIA – A police detective who had investigated online crimes against children killed himself Tuesday, moments before police could charge him with having inappropriate contact with two young teens. David Edward Abbott, 39, of Gainesville, Virginia, was a Manassas City detective. A mother has been arrested days after going on the run following the death of her 24-day-old daughter who was physically abused. Alyssa Kincaid, 24, was arrested today during a traffic stop, while her 26-year-old boyfriend, Nicholas Campbell, is already in police custody. The pair are both charged in connection with the death of Ciara Campbell, Kincaid’s daughter, who died on Sunday after just a few weeks of life. KENTUCKY – Kendall Marshall, a 6th-grader at Noe Middle School in Louisville, Kentucky has had enough of the brutal torment she has received from some of her peers. On December 10, Marshall’s family filed a lawsuit against two bullies, as a well as a guidance counselor  from Marshall’s school. Marshall says the bullying started with one 6th-grade boy who used verbal tactics to cut Marshall down, commenting on her physical appearance. WINNIPEG –Winnipeg police have charged a 53-year-old man with second-degree murder in the death of Tina Fontaine. Raymond Joseph Cormier, 53, was arrested Wednesday in the Vancouver area. Fontaine, 15, was pulled from Winnipeg’s Red River on Aug. 17 2014. Her body was wrapped in a black plastic bag. NEW YORK – 13-year-old Deandre Bloomfield remains in the hospital with second and third degree burns.  His mother says her son was set on fire by a bully. “He just wants friends not thinking the worst, that this can happen to him,” Ursula Allen, his mother, says. The horrific act took place on December 2nd at the 13-year-old suspect’s Staten Island home.  Allen says the teen sprayed cologne on her son, who is disabled, and lit a match. TV icon Bill Cosby, who allegedly used his celebrity over the years to sexually assault more than 50 women, has filed a defamation suit against seven of his accusers, his attorney said. The famed comedian, 78, once among America’s biggest television stars, filed suit in a court in Springfield, Massachusetts, his attorney Monique Pressley said in a statement. Cosby’s suit, accusing the women of defamation and “intentional infliction of emotional distress,” staunchly rejects the sex assault allegations that have derailed his career and sullied his once sterling reputation. VERSAILLES, Kentucky – The stabbing death of a kindergartner asleep in his home has plunged this Kentucky town into mourning, and shaken neighbors are rallying around the family even as they worry about their security. NEW YORK  — A suspect was arrested and charged late Friday in the rape of a 7-year-old girl in the Bronx. Virgilio Ocampo, 33, stood accused of raping the girl in the Soundview section of the Bronx, police said. Police put out a photo and a call for information about Ocampo’s whereabouts last week. A 22-year-old Oregon woman has been found guilty of repeatedly raping and sexually abusing a seven-year-old boy. Melissa Chacon, of Cornelius, was convicted on Friday of three counts of first-degree sexual abuse and one count of first-degree rape. The 22-year-old defendant was found not guilty of using a child in a display of sexual conduct and one count of first-degree sexual abuse. A leading independent Catholic school was plunged into a new scandal yesterday after its deputy head teacher was accused of possessing indecent images of children. Peter Allott, 36, from St Benedict’s School, Ealing, was arrested by officers from a specialist child abuse team at the National Crime Agency (NCA). He was charged with possessing almost 400 illegal images and videos, the majority of which were classified as the most depraved available. The material was allegedly recovered from his iPhone and a hard drive kept in his office at the prestigious school. A prominent Aboriginal activist has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a teenage girl over a five year period. The former chairman of the Illawarra Local Aboriginal Land Council, Roy ‘Dootch’ Kennedy, pleaded guilty to four charges of aggravated sexual assault in Sydney’s Campbelltown District Court on Monday. Mr Kennedy kept his relationship with the girl – who had two children as a result of the abuse – under wraps until he was charged with 15 child sex offences in February last year.
