This is the emotional moment when a Chinese father, who spent 20 years searching for his abducted son all over the country, has finally found his child yesterday. Sun Wei was abducted when he was just four years old and sold to a family over 1,400 miles away from home. His father, Sun Zhenghua, has spent some eight months of every year searching for him ever since. The pair finally reconnected after finding a match on Chinese police’s DNA database. Mother of infant Chance Walsh charged with 1st degree murder

SARASOTA, Florida — The mother of infant Chance Walsh was formally charged with first-degree murder Saturday. Kristen Bury, 32, of North Port made her first appearance before a Sarasota County judge Saturday morning and was denied bond. She also faces one count of child neglect in the death of Chance, whose body was found in a makeshift grave Thursday. The baby’s father, Joseph Walsh, also will be charged with murder after he is extradited from South Carolina, according to Bury’s probable cause affidavit. “Both Kristen Bury and Joseph Walsh were principals in the commission of 1st degree felony murder,” the affidavit says. DENVER – A Colorado man convicted of kidnapping a toddler from a couple he was staying with in California and sexually abusing the child to produce pornography that he shared online was sentenced to life in prison on Tuesday, prosecutors said. A federal jury found Shawn McCormack, 31, of Colorado Springs guilty on four counts of sexual exploitation of a child and two counts of kidnapping during a four-day trial in Fresno, California, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a statement. Senior U.S. District Court Judge Anthony W. Ishii presided over those proceedings in April, and on Tuesday he imposed the sentence on McCormack, the statement said. READ MORE HERE

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — North Charleston police have charged a man with murder after they say he stabbed his pregnant girlfriend to death Saturday night. Malakia Lasha Frazier, 26, of North Charleston died at MUSC just before midnight Saturday from multiple stab wounds, Charleston County Deputy Coroner Dottie Lindsay said. Authorities said her child was born during an emergency delivery and is in intensive care. Ricky Short, 26, is charged with murder, attempted murder of their unborn child and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. GEORGIA – Authorities in Georgia said a mother admitted to drowning her two children Tuesday. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police said Jokeera Morgan, 26, called 911 shortly before 12:38 p.m. ET and said she drowned her two daughters, 18 months old and 8 months old, at her Savannah home. Officers gave the girls CPR, but the children were pronounced dead on arrival at an area hospital, police said. WHITE COUNTY, Indiana — A former pastor accused of child molestation was sentenced in a White County courtroom Friday. James Crawn, 46, pleaded guilty in August to a count of child molestation, a Class A felony. Crawn is a former pastor at Faith Baptist Church in Idaville. He was arrested in late April and charged with two counts of child molestation, as well as child seduction and sexual misconduct with a minor. READ MORE HERE

A former Mrs. Orange County was charged today with using a 4-year-old relative to make child pornography and selling it to a Marine stationed in Southern California, authorities said. Meghan Breanna Alt, 25, of Irvine, being held on $100,000 bail, was charged with a count of possession and control of child pornography and three counts of lewd acts on a child younger than 14, all felonies. She also faces a sentencing enhancement allegation of substantial sexual conduct with a child. READ MORE HERE

A substitute teacher in New Port Richey was arrested Friday accused of molesting two children more than 50 times. Roy Wingo, 68, appeared in court on Saturday. He’s been charged with lewd and lascivious molestation and lewd and lascivious battery. Pasco County deputies said the victims were between the ages of 11 and 15, and 8 and 9 during the alleged molestation. CORTLAND, Ohio – A Trumbull County man was found guilty Friday on four counts of rape against a young girl. The jury handed down their decision Friday in the case against Frank Arcuri, 35, of Cortland. Arcuri was arrested at his Frostwood Drive home in April on rape charges. According to Bazetta Police, the Cortland man committed crimes against an 8-year-old girl, beginning in 2013 and lasting through earlier this year. READ MORE HERE

MACON, Georgia – Bibb sheriff’s deputies are searching for an accused child molester and rapist. According to the sheriff’s office, investigators have arrest warrants out for 24-year-old Arthur Martrell McDowell. He’s wanted for aggravated child molestation and statutory rape involving a 14-year-old girl.  Investigators tell 41NBC the incidents happened in July and August of this year at an undisclosed location in Bibb County. Warrants issued for Macon man in rape case

An increasing number of child abuse cases involving accusations of witchcraft and exorcism are being reported to police. In one incident, a boy of nine was called a “devil child” and thrown out of his home by his parents, detectives revealed. A specialist unit in London recorded 46 alleged crimes linked to faith last year- more than double the number in 2013, an investigation found. Project Violet, the specialist faith-based abuse team within the Metropolitan Police Service, has identified 60 incidents so far in 2015. The figures relate to crime reports flagged as involving abuse linked to faith or belief, and many of the cases involve children. A Newhall man was sentenced to 50 years to life in state prison Tuesday for murdering his 19-day-old daughter in January, officials said. Matthew Brendan Warner, 30,  killed his daughter, Ellorah Rose Warner, at their home while the baby’s mother was at work on Jan. 23, prosecutors said. Warner then claimed the baby had been kidnapped, which prompted a large-scale search operation for the newborn. Before the search for the child began, neighbors said they had seen Warner walk outside the couple’s home carrying a bundle while the baby’s mother was at work. BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The victims of a Florida woman who allegedly killed her own children are said to have told their mother how much they loved her before they died. Jessica McCarty, 33, told police officers that she didn’t deserve to live after the alleged deed, for which she faces the death penalty and three first-degree murder charges in Brevard County. Police say that Lacey McCarty, 7, was drowned in a bathtub, and that her brothers Phillip McCarty, 6, and Christopher Swist, five months, were strangled with cords around their necks. New court documents, including handwritten notes from the officers who arrested her after she tried to take her own life with a knife,  reveal what she said in the aftermath of the killings in March.
