A secret Catholic Church report found an Australian parish priest had been internally investigated and found guilty of child sex abuse, despite no criminal charges ever being laid against him. A report into a confidential investigation into Father Peter Searson of the Doveton parish, south east of Melbourne, in 1997 found he was guilty of the offences, ABC’s Four Corners reports. While Cardinal George Pell rejected a church cover-up of Father Searson’s crimes when he gave evidence at last year’s Victorian inquiry into child sex abuse, he did not make reference to the internal 1997 investigation or the finding that he had sexually abused children in his parish. A 22-year-old Port Huron woman was arrested after her boyfriend’s child was found in critical condition in a bathtub in the 800 block of 13th Street in Port Huron. Charlisa Wood was charged Friday with torture, first degree child abuse, and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, according to the Port Huron Police Department. An Obama Homeland Security TSA Inspector, George Hristovski, of Elverta in Northern, California, was arrested by the FBI after he allegedly sought to have sex with a mother and her 13-year-old daughter. UPDATE: SEATTLE — A 17-year-old boy was arrested Saturday in the death of 6-year-old Jenise Wright, who went missing last week in Washington, authorities say. The teenager, whose name was not released, will be charged with second degree murder, first degree manslaughter and rape, according to Kitsap County Sheriff’s Lt. Earl Smith. No exact cause of death was immediately released. Smith said at a news conference Saturday afternoon that deputies and FBI agents arrested the boy at his home without incident. In the morning, however, that bed was empty and more than 48 hours later their first grader is still missing. As dog teams scoured the Washington state mobile home park where she lived, police searched cars and checked identification at the entrance to the community. 5 UK teens charged with child rape

A recent graduate of a prestigious New Hampshire boarding prep school has been charged with sexually assaulting a freshman as part of a student tradition in which seniors try to have sex with younger students. A police affidavit obtained by the Concord Monitor alleges 18-year-old Owen Labrie, of Tunbridge, Vermont, sexually assaulted a 15-year-old on campus two days before he graduated from St. Paul’s School in Concord June 1. Police say Labrie denied having sex with the girl. A Florida mother and her live-in boyfriend are facing a slew of child abuse charges after sheriff’s officials say the man repeatedly molested his girlfriend’s children – and she did nothing to stop him. According to the Manatee County’s Sheriff’s Office, 42-year-old Shawn Ussery had not only sexually abused the minors for five years, but he also smoked methamphetamine with at least one of the victims. Ussery was arrested Tuesday at his home in Bradenton on 10 counts of sexual battery, 16 counts of capital sexual battery and a single count of aggravated child abuse. STUART, Florida — More than two decades after she reported her 5-year-old son missing from a carnival in New Jersey, a woman investigators say they long considered a suspect was arrested on the day that Timothy Wiltsey would have turned 29. Michelle Lodzinski, 47, was held without bail by a Florida judge after a brief court appearance Thursday. She was arrested Wednesday in Jensen Beach. It wasn’t known whether she would agree to return to New Jersey, where a judge set her bail at $2 million. Genene Jones, 64, will be released from prison in February, 2018

A pediatric nurse who allegedly murdered more than 40 infants in the 1980’s and was sent to prison for 99 years is up for parole this week. The parole board will almost certainly vote to keep Genene Jones behind bars. But no matter what the board does, she will walk free in less than four years.  ‘She’s probably going to be the first serial killer in this country’s history to be legally released,’ said Andy Kahan.

Jones, now age 64, is suspected of murdering dozens of infants by injecting them with a combination of drugs at two hospitals in San Antonio and Kerrville, Texas, between 1971 and 1984. Some estimates say she killed as many as 46 children. However, she was only convicted of two crimes – the murder of 15-month-old Chelsea McClellan and the attempted murder of Rolando Jones, who was 18 months old at the time. Her 99-year prison sentence was reduced by one third because of Texas sentencing laws at the time. A 21-year-old mother of five from Denver has been charged in the beating death of her 2-month-old daughter after a night of heavy drinking. Kelsy Newell-Skinner was arrested last Monday and remains in custody for allegedly beating her daughter, Natalee Marie Skinner-Hurst, over the weekend. The infant, who died at a hospital last Thursday, was brain dead and had multiple injuries, including severe bruising on her head, a swollen left eye, fractured ribs and what are thought to be bite marks on her left thigh. A Kenosha, Wisconsin, couple is suing the popular child care website Care.com for the death of their baby girl.  Prosecutors say 3-month-old Rylan Koopmeiners died of blunt force trauma on July 27, 2012, while under the care of Sarah Gumm, a nanny the girl’s parents found on Care.com. Now, Nathan and Reggan Koopmeiners claim the website is partially responsible for their daughter’s death. According to the suit, Gumm, 33, repeatedly left the 3-month-old unattended while she allegedly took a taxi to a local pharmacy and purchased wine. The lawsuit goes on to allege that Gumm was under the influence of alcohol while providing nanny services and “negligently struck and/or slammed Rylan on her head causing a head injury” and ultimately, death.
