YouTube filmmaker Yousef Erakat made the following video as a social experiment to see how many people would stop to help a child in need. In the video, Yousef tries to prove that although people say they wish they could help starving children in Third World Countries, the majority of people would not stop to help a starving child in their own neighborhood.

The video shows a young women holding up a sign in neighborhoods where it’s common to carry $10,000 purses and drive $100,000 cars. Only ONE man stopped to give the girl a dollar. What happens around 3:15 made me want to cry myself. An ACTUAL homeless man showed up in tears that the police stole his only friend, his dog. I pray that this man gets his animal back and that the people who watch this experiment remember that helping others can start in their very own hometowns.

A gas station clerk from Arizona has been hailed as a hero for helping rescue a baby girl who police say was kidnapped by her own grandmother. Carolyn Ferguson, 57, was arrested Wednesday night in a Phoenix suburb for allegedly abducting 6-month-old Laylani Mosley from her parents’ home in Huntington Beach, California. The baby’s disappearance had sparked an Amber Alert, which ultimately helped police track down the infant and her grandmother. A 22-year-old Danish man interning at a New York preschool that caters to the children of international diplomats and UN employees has been accused of sexually abusing 13 children in his care. Malthe Thomsen, who arrived in Manhattan in February to work at the International Preschool at 45th Street, has been in jail since last Friday, charged with 15 counts of first-degree sexual abuse. Prosecutors say Thomsen placed the hands of nine different children on his genitals over his clothing and that he pressed the head of a 10th victim against his clothed genitals. ORLANDO, FL – An 18-year-old mother was arrested on suspicion of trying to suffocate her baby in an Orlando hospital room. Brenna Elise Winter, of St. Cloud, was arrested on charges of attempted first-degree murder, battery by strangulation and aggravated child abuse. According to court documents, Winter took her 3-month-old daughter to Nemours Hospital earlier this month because the baby was vomiting blood. A mother who claimed her three-year-old daughter was killed in a hit and run incident outside their Florida home has been charged with murder. Maryann Schwartz told police her child, Yeliani, had been run over in the parking lot outside their apartment, but a medical examiner said the girl had died from blunt trauma. Yeliani was also described as being malnourished and both she and her two-year-old brother, who is now in protective custody, were covered in bruises. Investigators combing through a stash of more than 50,000 images and videos of child pornography hidden in a bedside table in Matthew Coniglio‘s Georgia home made an even more horrifying discovery: cassette tapes they say show him raping and molesting girls. All were unconscious, apparently drugged, FBI Special Agent William Kirkconnell, who viewed the tapes, told The Associated Press. Some were so incapacitated they were snoring. The camera recording the 56 8-millimeter cassette tapes was always turned off before they awoke. Many of the victims’ faces cannot be clearly identified, so investigators don’t know how many girls were attacked. But each tape recorded at least one assault — some had more — in homes and hotels. The youngest victim appears to be about 10 years old. And authorities’ best chance for resolving the raft of unanswered questions ended on April 20. LAS VEGAS — A former employee of a Las Vegas school is facing federal child pornography charges. According to the United States Attorney, John-Benedict Galang Alcantara, 24 of Las Vegas, appeared in federal court Wednesday afternoon on charges that he received and possessed child pornography. In the criminal complaint, Alcantara is charged with one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. During Wednesday’s hearing, U.S. Magistrate Judge Cam Ferenbach released the defendant on bond with special conditions. SANTA ANA, CA — The parents of a severely autistic boy were arrested after investigators determined the 11-year-old had been kept in a large metal cage, possibly to control his violent outbursts, authorities said Wednesday. The cage — similar to an extra-large dog kennel — was found in the home with a mattress and other bedding inside, Anaheim police Lt. A 47-year-old Chandler man has been accused of posing as a 16-year-old to lure a Massachusetts boy cross country. Brad Cooper of Chandler appeared in Maricopa County Court for the first time on Monday as he pleaded not guilty to more than 20 counts of child sex-abuse. Cooper was arrested on June 11, after local police found a missing 14-year-old boy from Pittsfield, Massachusetts at his home. According to court documents, Cooper posed online as a 16-year-old named ‘Trent Thompson’ to start talking to the victim in April. A mother depressed over her son’s suicide killed her two young daughters and herself early Tuesday using suffocating nitrogen gas at their upstate New York home, about a week after a stay in a mental institution, authorities said. East Greenbush Police Chief Christopher Lavin said a 911 call at about 1:45am sent police to the town house in the Albany suburb, where they found the mom and girls, ages 6 and 9, unconscious from exposure to the odorless gas in a first-floor bedroom. Rescuers had to break down the door to the locked room and tried CPR for a half hour before the three were taken to Albany Medical Center, where they died. Israeli searchers on Monday discovered the bodies of three Israeli teenagers, who were abducted on June 12, north of Hebron in the West Bank. The bodies were found near Halhul on Monday afternoon. Israeli security forces, which had been conducting extensive searches in the area, sealed off the area and declared it a closed military zone. Hebron was also sealed off. A search team from the local Kfar Etzion field school, along with IDF soldiers from an elite unit, found the teens. 1.9 million Graco infant car seats recalled due to faulty harness buckles

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Graco have recalled approximately 1.9 million infant car seats due to faulty harness buckles. The seats were manufactured between July 2010 and May 2013. Some consumers reported having difficulty opening the buckle.
