ENGLEWOOD – Results of an investigation into the drowning of an 11-month-old baby led to the arrest of the boy’s mom Saturday. In June, Sharon Swat, 24, told deputies she left her son in the bathtub while she put his bottle in the kitchen sink. She said when she returned to the bathroom, the tub was overflowing and the victim was face down in the water unresponsive and not breathing. The child later died at Englewood Community Hospital. During tests performed, investigators say the bathtub did not manage to overflow after 34 minutes. The shocking abuse inflicted on teachers by children as young as FOUR

Children as young as four have violently attacked their teachers, new figures suggest. In one instance, a nursery school teacher was reportedly smacked, kicked and headbutted by a child in Walsall, West Midlands. Elsewhere, it is claimed a pupil punched and headbutted a staff member after grabbing them by the neck in Houndslow, West London. One teacher in Derby was stabbed in the arm with a pencil, according to reports. Toddler, Savannah Cross, death ruled murder by Phoenix medical examiner

Medical examiners said a 2-year-old girl who died a year ago was murdered while she was in the care of a Phoenix day care. The final medical report released Thursday in the December 2012 death of Savannah Cross, who was weeks away from her third birthday, said the cause of death was multiple traumatic injuries, acute methamphetamine exposure and dehydration. Ryan Alan Reed, 27, was re-arrested in November after new forensic details emerged showing he molested the girl, according to authorities. Reed and Allison Ann Clement, 28, were living together and ran the home day care at 48th Street and Southern Avenue for five months. Former partners who each murdered a child are now writing love letters to each other from their prison cells

Two former lovers who each murdered children in separate slayings are back in contact and writing love letters to each other from behind bars, it has been revealed.  Wesley Williams strangled his former partner and her seven-month-old baby after the graduate broke up with him – then wrote about his crimes on Facebook. At the time of his sickening attack, in June, his ex partner Rebecca Shuttleworth was also facing trial for the murder of her two-year-old son Keanu. Covered in bruises, his skin red and smarting, this  sobbing eight-year-old has just been stripped to his underwear, tied to a tree and beaten by his father. If that wasn’t shocking enough, many in the sizeable crowd that gathered around applauded as the father lashed him with a stick.  The boy from Nanchong in Sichuan province, south-west China, skipped classes after receiving the equivalent of £10 from his father.  He had also reportedly failed to return on time earlier in the week. A “self-proclaimed” pastor in Minnesota has been charged with the rape of two girls. Jacoby Kindred, 61, is accused of sexually abusing the daughters of his son’s girlfriend beginning when they were only six years old. According to a criminal complaint obtained by the Pioneer Press, Kindred, a pastor with One Accord Ministries, told one victim that “the devil was inside her and he could take the demons out of her.” READ MORE HERE

Arapahoe High School Shooting Leaves 2 Injured, 1 Dead

At least two people were injured in a shooting at Arapahoe High School in Centennial, Colo. on Friday. One student was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, according to KDVR. The second student suffered a minor gunshot wound. At a 1:45 p.m. MST press conference, County Sheriff Grayson Robinson said the suspect, who was a student, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities “found his body in the internal portion of the school in a classroom,” Robinson said at a 3 p.m. press conference. The shooter is believed to have acted alone. The shooter “targeted a specific teacher that he was interested in confronting,” according to Robinson. READ MORE HERE

Teen sentenced to 75 years for raping 11-year-old

GREAT FALLS, Mont. — A teenager who pleaded guilty to raping an 11-year-old girl as she walked home from school last year was sentenced to 75 years in the Montana State Prison. Ten years of Kaleb Kuebler’s sentence was suspended, but the 16-year-old also must register as a sex offender and complete treatment before he is eligible for parole, Judge Greg Pinski of Cascade County District Court said Wednesday. Children as young as five have been excluded from schools for serious sexual abuse, watching pornography and ‘sexting’ inappropriate images of themselves. Hundreds of pupils have been banned from class for a raft of ‘sexual misconduct’, including assault, harassment and bullying. Others have been excluded for inappropriate touching, lewd behavior and sexual graffiti. Shockingly, some children were disciplined within their first year at primary school when new learners are just four or five-years-old, although 13, 14 and 15 years old are the most likely to be punished. SC mother’s homicide by child abuse conviction overturned

LAURENS, SC  – Pictures of Audrina Claire Hepburn are posted on the wall of the Ebel home. They still bring the family comfort and a mold of the 16-month-old’s hand touches Rita Ebel’s heart. “She melted everybody’s heart. We had 16 short months and we were blessed to have those,” Ebel said. Ebel said she always thinks about her granddaughter, Audrina Claire Hepburn. “Everyday I speak her name, I tell somebody about her story, I talk about her, I wear a tattoo on my arm to remind me of her,” Ebel said. Back in October 2009, investigators said someone killed the 16-month-old and accused the baby’s mother, Ashley Hepburn, and her boyfriend, Richard Lewis, of the crime.
