A 45-year-old man from western Sweden has been charged on 25 counts of sex offences against children, including rape. The investigation against the man was opened when a 13-year-old girl committed suicide in Kumla in March. The man has now been charged for offences including gross exploitation of children for sexual posing, aggravated sexual abuse, child rape, molestation, and several cases of attempted aggravated child exploitation for posing. The community is reacting to a new development in the case of teenage girl who went missing two years ago. Police announced Friday morning that they believe they have found the remains of 14-year-old Chyenne Kircher in the woods behind her home in East Dubuque. She disappeared in October of 2011, but a recent break in the case had agents with the FBI and Illinois State Police digging near the home where she lived with her mother, brother and stepfather. Earlier this week, they charged her stepfather with first degree murder. Terry Abbas is accused of strangling Chyenne, causing her death. A 60-year-old woman is under arrest in Missouri in connection with an alleged child abduction case that took place nearly 13 years ago in Florida, authorities said. Sandy Hatte, who is related to the child’s family, is accused of kidnapping an infant back in 2000, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office. “The dad was working, came home from work, and [Hatte] was gone with the baby,” Detective Eric Menconi of the Livingston County Sherriff’s Office told ABC News. “He hasn’t been able to find them since.” READ MORE HERE

EL CAJON, CA – Tassie Behrens, a 26-year-old California woman whose two toddlers drowned at a friend’s home four months ago, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of felony child abuse and drug violations in connection with their deaths, CBS affiliate KFMB reports. Behrens was taken into custody without incident at a motel in El Cajon late Thursday morning in connection with the deaths of her 1-year-old daughter, Harley Bradford, and her 2-year-old son, Jason Bradford, authorities say. Reports of pictures showing abuse of children under 10 have risen by almost a third in the past year. Amazon is top of a “hotlist of targets” drawn up by the leading internet child abuse watchdog in a fresh attempt to tackle what it says is a steep rise in reports of extreme images online. The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), which polices child sexual abuse material, said it had seen a tenfold increase in reports to its hotline about graphic images on third-party pages hosted on computer hardware provided by the retail giant. A Northern California woman who burned, whipped and brutalized her fiancé’s daughter while he was in prison has been convicted of torture and sentenced to life behind bars. A judge sentenced 37-year-old Duewa Lee immediately following her conviction by a jury on Thursday on 11 felony counts. Lee received an indeterminate life term on the torture conviction, plus another nine years for the other counts related to the abuses endured by the girl. The girl was 12 at the time of the abuse and is now 14. A man has been charged with child abuse and cruelty after he whipped a girl to the beat of Robin Thicke’s controversial ‘Blurred Lines’ song while filming it on his phone. Steven Fillingim, 40, of Pensacola, is accused of repeatedly physically abusing an underage female. A charge sheet shows that the victim claims Fillingim returned home on Saturday night and branded her lazy for not vacuuming and deliberately missing school earlier in the week.  He allegedly hit her face with a belt and his hands. According to an arrest report, he forced his victim to hold a 20-pound weight in front of her body, and then hold an 8-pound weight behind her body, Miami New Times reported. He allegedly then forced her to dig mud for 90 minutes before eventually allowing her to stop and go to bed at 1.30 am. An 11-month old baby girl has died after her mother’s boyfriend allegedly shook her for crying too much. The child, named Aliyah Faye Wild, died Tuesday night after arriving at the emergency room unresponsive and in critical condition at Davis Hospital and Medical Center in Layton, Utah on September 10, according to the Deseret News. Tyler Ryan Geary, 25, was arrested during an investigation of child abuse, but he later bailed out of jail and has not been charged. Church custodian claims he molested girl because she tempted him with ‘short shorts’

A former West Virginia church custodian will serve 15 to 35 years in prison for molesting a 7-year-old relative who he claims had tempted him by ‘prancing around in short shorts.’ Charles Brainard Hogan, 58, of Cross Lanes, said Wednesday he was ashamed of what he did. But he also told Kanawha County Circuit Judge Paul Zakaib that he assaulted the girl because his wife had not slept with him in three years. A Colorado reporter has filed a lawsuit to have the indictment made against the parents of slain JonBenet Ramsey made public more than a decade after it was originally filed. The 1996 murder of the 6-year-old beauty pageant contestant made headlines for years and the latest revelation in the saga was that one of the grand juries called in to examine the case originally felt that the girl’s parents were in part responsible for her death. Back in 1999 a Colorado grand jury voted to indict the Ramseys on charges of child abuse resulting in death, a felony that can carry up to 48 years in prison. Sources, including members of the grand jury, told the Boulder Daily Camera in January that the District Attorney at the time, Alex Hunter, refused to sign the indictment vote without giving a public explanation. Instead, the indictment remained sealed and Patsy and John Ramsey were never charged.
