A Presho man accused of raping a 9-year-old relative was found guilty by a Brown County jury Wednesday of seven sexual abuse-related charges. Jerry L. Craig Sr., 55, was not sentenced. He faces a maximum of life in prison. After deliberating for nearly four hours, the jury found Craig guilty of three counts of rape of a child younger than 13, three counts of sexual abuse of a child younger than 15 and one count of aggravated incest. NEW YORK — The U.S. Marshals Service has arrested 33-year-old Albert Bowman in York in connection with rape of a child, according to a news release. In September 2012, the York City Police Department investigated an allegation of rape and sexual assault of a minor, according to the news release. Based upon an investigation, an arrest warrant for Bowman was issued on June 14, the news release states. York City Police asked for the assistance of the United States Marshals Service Middle District of Pennsylvania Task Force, according to a news release. OREGON — Gary Lee Rose claimed he was the victim of a 9-year-old girl bent on thwarting his budding romance with her mother. It was the girl who took those sexually explicit photos and a video found on his cell phone, he said. A Clackamas County jury didn’t believe Rose’s story. After deliberating three hours, the 12 jurors unanimously convicted him Friday on multiple counts of unlawful sexual penetration, using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct and first-degree sexual abuse. ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Missouri – A St. Charles County woman has been charged in connection with the sexual assault and murder of her baby daughter last December. Jessica Lynn Howell, a.k.a. Jessica Lynn Peters, faces counts of 2nd degree murder and child abuse. Her 4-month-old daughter Ashlynn Lilith Peters died on December 3rd after she was allegedly sexually assaulted and strangled to death by the mother’s boyfriend, Jordan Lafayette Prince. New figures revealing the impact of child abuse show as many as one in ten survivors have contemplated or attempted suicide, amid demands for better support from health practitioners including GPs. Analysis of more than 3500 calls over the past four years to a helpline operated by peak body Adults Surviving Child Abuse shows 67 per cent of people who said they had experienced sexual, physical or emotional abuse as a child suffered mental health problems as a result. Nearly 80 per cent of callers said their personal relationships had been affected and 18 per cent said their physical health had suffered. GRAND RAPIDS, MI – The often-heard outburst of a defendant’s mother screaming “Judge, don’t take my son away” was turned on its head in a Kent County courtroom Monday when a judge threw the book – and then some — at a child abuser based partially on his mom’s plea to separate her son from society. Nathaniel Sweet will spend the next 24 to 50 years in prison after he was convicted of delivering a blow to the head of 8-month-old Ayla Marie Shuart that had the same force as being dropped out of a four-story window, according to a doctor who testified in the trial in May. WILLMAR — A Cyrus man has been charged with 12 felony counts of criminal sexual conduct for repeatedly having sex with a female relative between 1999 and 2011. Eugene Otto Zumhofe, 62, made his first appearance Tuesday morning in Kandiyohi County District Court. He faces six felony counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and six felony counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. Judge Kathryn Smith set his bail at $500,000 cash or bond for unconditional release and $100,000 cash or bond for conditional release. He is being held at the Kandiyohi County Jail. His next court date is June 10. Zumhofe is a former professional wrestler who performed as Buck “Rock n’ Roll” Zumhofe in the 1980s and early 1990s. Court docs: 9-month-old found dead had severe vaginal trauma

RICHLAND, Washington — The 9-month-old baby found dead in her crib last week suffered severe vaginal trauma, according to the autopsy. The child’s mother found Serenity Reedy dead in her crib Friday morning. The mother’s boyfriend, 36-year-old Jose Aguilar, was nowhere to be found. He’s suspected of the baby’s death. Google develops tagging system to find and delete vile child abuse images from the web

Web giant Google is to develop a global database of child abuse images to make it easier to delete them from the internet. Experts are developing technology similar to hashtags which digitally mark vile images found online. The firm is also offering more than $1 million to independent software developers to produce tools to combat child porn, after being stung by criticism that it was not doing enough to stem the tide of internet filth.
