NORRIDGEWOCK — State police have arrested a former sheriff’s deputy, the husband of a day care center operator, on charges of unlawful sexual contact with three children. Horace Barstow, 67, of Norridgewock, was arrested Friday and released on bail,Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said in a news release. He did not release the names or genders of the children, but he said they were all under 12 years old and that the offenses took place at the day care site. READ MORE HERE

Thief strangled baby in stolen car to stop him crying

An unbelievably evil car thief strangled a baby to death after finding him in the luxury motor he stole – because the child wouldn’t stop crying. Zhou Xijun, 48, is facing the death penalty after telling police he killed the two-month-old because he was worried the baby’s crying would give him away. Xijun had stolen the 4×4 in Jilin province, northern China after baby Xu Haobo’s dad Xu Ling, 34, had left the car engine running to warm up. READ MORE HERE

Chicago Infant Shot 5 Times Dies

CHICAGO — A 6-month old girl became the latest innocent victim of Chicago gang violence when a gunman ambushed her father while he was changing her diaper along a South Side street and unloaded round after round into the two of them. Jonylah Watkins died at a hospital Tuesday after surgeons did what they could to repair the damage from the five bullets that tore through her body during Monday’s attack in Woodlawn. Her father, Jonathan Watkins, was in serious but stable condition Tuesday after receiving treatment for wounds to his buttocks and side and a graze to his face, police said.  READ MORE HERE

Schoolboy, 16, ‘planned to massacre classmates and teachers with home-made bombs and handguns after writing hit-list of targets’
A teenager who plotted to massacre classmates after being bullied was detained indefinitely yesterday after admitting terrorism charges. The 16-year-old kept a stockpile of explosives, became ‘fascinated’ by mass killings and drew up a hit-list of his fellow students. The boy – who cannot be named for legal reasons – then planned to kill himself after wiping out his school pals and teachers, a court heard. He was arrested after boasting anonymously to a fellow user of chat room Omegle. Internationally acclaimed artist ‘sexually abused young girls in nighties after blindfolding them’
A famous artist sexually abused young girls after blindfolding them and dressing them in Victorian-style nighties, a jury heard today. Graham Ovenden, 70, is accused of offences against four children aged from six to 14 who posed for him between 1972 and 1985. Ovenden’s work includes nude and semi-nude portraits of young girls. Ramsay Quaife, prosecuting, said the offences took place at his homes in London and Cornwall and the alleged victims – all now adults – had similar accounts of the alleged abuse. An Indiana woman faces child pornography charges after getting caught in an FBI sting. 24-year-old Natisha Hillard is being indicted alongside 39-year-old Christopher Bour after FBI agents uncovered a plot between the two to sell the former’s infant daughter for the explicit purpose of producing child pornography. The Michigan State Police is investigating a missing 15-year-old from Riley Township. Isha Greir was last seen by family Feb. 26 when she attended class at Crossroads Alternative Education School in Capac. Her family has not had contact with her since, according to a statement from the Michigan State Police. Investigators believe she met with a subject that same afternoon and traveled to Roseville. It is believed she returned to Riley Township early the next morning and was last seen between 10 and 10:30 a.m. in Capac, MI.  READ MORE HERE

Five children, aged between one and 15, were rescued from a home so packed with trash that they couldn’t move around. Police found two of the children, aged three and one, in a basement which had no visible walkways through the filth. Another officer found a 7 and a 9-year-old in a back room with similar conditions. A 15-year-old wheelchair bound boy was also marooned in the home with no way of getting past the waste. Woman arrested for attempting to sell children

SALLISAW, OK — A Sallisaw woman was taken to Sequoyah County jail for trying to sell her children to a woman in Fort Smith, Arkansas Wednesday. Misty Nicole Vanhorn, 22, was selling her children for $1,000 each, or both for $4,000. Officials say that she needed bond money to get her boyfriend out of jail. READ MORE HERE

On October 19, 2012, authorities arrested Thomas Edward Dempolous for the molestation of an 8-year-old child. Cops say Demopolous bonded out, but had three more molestation charges to follow. On March 12, 1973, nine-year-old Roxie Ann Keathley returned from school to the apartment complex in which she lived. Timothy Papp, his wife and his child were also residents of the complex. Papp was living alone because his wife and child had left him three days earlier. To obtain spending money, Roxie would often go from apartment to apartment asking the residents for their pop bottles. About 3:30 p.m. on March 12, 1973, Roxie and her sister, Tammy, saw Papp in the parking lot and asked him if he had any pop bottles. Papp said that he had some, but that Roxie should return later. Instead of returning home to dinner with Tammy, Roxie said she had something else to do. Roxie was last seen alive about 5:00 p.m. on March 12, 1973. A man in a white trench coat was seen talking to Roxie about this time. After searching for Roxie without success during the evening hours of March 12, her mother called the police about 10:00 p.m. and reported Roxie missing. An extensive search for Roxie was made by sheriff’s deputies and volunteer searchers, but she could not be found.  READ MORE HERE

A nanny in Omaha has been arrested in the connection with the tragic death of a four-month-old boy on Tuesday after giving three different accounts of the day he stopped breathing.  Sarah Cullen, 24, was looking after Cash Christopher Bell last week when, worried about his deteriorating condition, she and her boyfriend rushed to the emergency room with the baby.  But according to investigators none of the stories Ms Cullen told in interviews following the baby’s death five days later match the injuries sustained by the infant.  READ MORE HERE
