Details steadily emerged Tuesday about the predawn sexual assault and slaying of 8-year-old Ahliyah Nachell Irvin in Topeka’s Highland Park area. “This was a particularly heinous crime,” said Topeka Police Chief Ron Miller. Billy Frank Davis Jr., 28, of Topeka, was booked into the Shawnee County Jail on Tuesday night in connection with aggravated burglary, aggravated kidnapping, rape and felony first-degree murder, said Topeka police Capt. STOCKTON, CA – A 2-year-old boy is on life support after he was severely beaten by his own father, according to Stockton police. The boy’s mother said she had been warning law enforcement and the court system for months that she and her son were being abused. Friday night, Oakland police notified the Stockton Police Department that a child arrived at Oakland Children’s Hospital with life threatening injuries and the father’s story was suspicious. Almost a million children in Britain are affected by domestic violence, either as victims or witnesses, a new study will reveal tomorrow. A fifth grade teacher and her assistant in Sacramento, California have been put on leave after being accused of duct taping a special needs student’s mouth closed on Thursday.
