MORENO VALLEY: Suspects sought in attempted kidnappings

Moreno Valley police are looking for three different men suspected in several attempted kidnappings of girls walking home in Moreno Valley. Police said the incidents do not appear to be related, but each involved a man trying to lure teen girls away or into their vehicles. The first report was Oct. 31 at 11 a.m. when two high school students said a man approached them each separately and asked the girls to get into his van, Moreno Valley police said. READ MORE HERE

Two foster parents from Ankeny, IA, Paul and JoAnn Drake, were arrested for false imprisonment and neglect of an abandoned person, after they forced their 13-year-old daughter and 14-year-old son to live in the basement. One of the children eventually informed a school employee that they had been forced to live in the basement as a form of punishment. After years of waiting for justice, a family of Burmese immigrants will finally face the man accused of brutally raping and murdering their seven-year-old daughter in court. LANCASTER COUNTY, SC — A man whose grandson is also his son will spend a year in prison after admitting to sexually assaulting and impregnating his daughter 14 years ago. Fred Lee Montgomery, 47, pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor in a Lancaster County courtroom Monday morning. A judge sentenced him to 15 years in prison, but suspended all but one year. Tiara Stevens, 27, who was only 13 years old when she gave birth to her son, said Monday she was shocked by the sentence. “It was a slap in my face,” said Stevens. “To wait 14 years and all a person gets is 1 year? A pat on the back, telling them it’s okay to molest your daughter, impregnate her, and for her to have a child, a blind child? It’s ok?” READ MORE HERE

SAYREVILLE, N.J. — A father who threw his infant daughter off a bridge was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday. Shamsiddin Abdur-Raheem, 24, was convicted of killing 3-month-old Zara by throwing her into the Raritan River in February 2010. He was sentenced to an additional 30 years for kidnapping the child from her grandmother?s apartment. READ MORE HERE

BURBANK, CA — Police have arrested a 14-year-old boy for allegedly sexually abusing a 4-year-old boy at his parents’ day-care center in Burbank. The investigation began on Monday, after the 4-year-old boy’s mother reported the alleged abuse. READ MORE HERE

This young boy was left barely living while under the inhumane roof of his adoptive parents. Weighing only 35 pounds at 8 years old, the child was checked into Minnesota’s Mayo Clinic Health System for vomiting blood by his adoptive mother Mona Hauer, who was later charged with 6 felonies after it was discovered she and her husband Russell had been starving and beating the boy to near death. Racist twins face jail time after beating up a 10-year-old.

Sandra and Sondra Karwell were arrested in Palm Bay, Florida, after they attacked a mother and her young son. The Karwell’s, 52, have a history of violence, with police charging Sandra only last month after she attempted to run over a child while on her bike. READ MORE HERE

2. Find out the guidelines for a peaceful demonstration (call the local police department) in most cities, you do not need a permit. NOTE: IT IS NOT AGAINST THE LAW TO HAVE A PUBLIC GATHERING ON PUBLIC PROPERTY and most cities will welcome this cause with open arms.

AFTER YOU REGISTER AS A LEAD WITH US:
1. Start a distribution email list in your email box. Start a word or excel document to keep all your marcher’s contact info. You will be emailing them once a month with exciting news. Once a week, send all your new supporter’s contact info to MACAcoordinator@gmail.com and put in the subject line: Marchers in (list city & State). Then list their contact info for our national records.

2. Ask Strong local leadership in each of your areas to come out and speak at these events. Whomever you consider as a role model,leader or pillar of the community, please book them now. Do not wait, their calendars may fill quickly. Send in their information as well.

3. Advertise, advertise, advertise on social media; build your FB COMMUNITY PAGE (LIKES) for the largest turnout in the U.S.! Understand FB’s policies listed below, so you make sure you are not spamming and lose your page. (We will be keeping a national register on all participants as a back up for you.) All Leads who wish to start a FB Community page for your city/state, we ask you follow these guidelines: Titles must be, Million March Against Child Abuse (MACA), your city/state. All persons wishing to support your march must register by supplying you with their name, email address and phone. That information must be given weekly to us to enter into our national database.

4. Identify local media reporters and email addresses and document the information, so in March and then again a week before the march, we will provide you with a press release to send to them.

5. Begin to compile a list of student groups/clubs/organizations at your nearest college. Get the President or VP’s email and phone information. They will come out in droves to support you. Explain to them how CAN is still a silent epidemic and we desperately need their voice during National Child Abuse Prevention Month next April 22, 2013, which is a Monday. Tell them there will be marches going on in DC and nationally. Demonstrations will be held at your courthouse. Monthly Lead Conference Calls begin in October. You will be notified by email. Father gets 15 years for raping daughter

A man has been jailed for 15 years for raping and sexually assaulting his then eight-year-old daughter. The court had heard that the defendant gave the girl alcohol and cigarettes and made her watch a pornographic film as he abused her. The 50-year-old man continues to deny the offenses and claims the girl’s mother put her up to making the complaints. The defendant cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim. A sentencing hearing yesterday heard that the girl had changed from “a happy, fun-loving child” to one with severe depression.  READ MORE HERE

PALM BAY, FL — Palm Bay police continue to search for a convicted sex offender who is on the run. Johnny Ray Morgan was convicted in 1995 of sexual battery on a child under 12. He was recently released from prison and is required to wear a GPS ankle bracelet. On Sunday, Morgan took off his GPS tracker, triggering an alarm.  READ MORE HERE

Richard Mourdock is the Republican nominee for Senate in the great state of Indiana — and as Mitt Romney has said, if he wins, he could be one of the 51 votes needed to overturn “Obamacare.” But this week, Richard Mourdock found a way to stand out from the pack, so much so, that I thought I’d send him a note.

Dear Mr. Mourdock,

Sometimes I still flinch when I’m touched a certain way, even if it’s the loving embrace of my husband. I can’t stand to watch TV shows where rape is the central plot line. Even some seasons of the year are harder for me. Those of us who are sexual assault survivors call these triggers. Army colonel and scout leader who ‘molested boys for decades while pastors, parents and scout officials looked the other way’

Tucked away in the quaint college town of Athens, Georgia, an Army colonel and scoutmaster allegedly molested young boys for decades while pastors, boy scout officials and even parents looked the other way, according to confidential documents kept by the Boy Scouts of America. Earnest P. Boland, now 88 and confined to a wheelchair, forced at least one dozen boys to perform sex acts on him between the 1950s and 1970s, the documents state.  READ MORE HERE
