Oakland County Child Killer Victims–At a press conference, the Michigan State Police (MSP) announced a renewed investigative effort in the 1976 Oakland County Child Killer case, calling for anyone with information about these murders to come forward.

For over 35 years, detectives from the MSP, Berkley Police Department, Birmingham Police Department, Ferndale Police Department, Franklin Police Department, Livonia Police Department, Royal Oak Police Department, Southfield Police Department, Troy Police Department and Oakland County Sheriff’s Department have received a steady stream of tips from the public and have exhausted every lead,” said Detective Sergeant Garry Gray, MSP Metro North Post. “It is now time to double our efforts and we need your help.

TAMPA — A toddler whose mother is accused of waiting hours to get help even though the boy was unconscious died Wednesday morning. Child abuse reporting laws do not apply to adult patients who talk about childhood problems in therapy, the attorney general’s office ruled Wednesday. In December, the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists asked the attorney general to clarify Texas’ mandatory reporter law, which requires certain professionals to report suspected child abuse or neglect to authorities within 48 hours of a disclosure.  READ MORE HERE

While imposing the maximum sentence Tuesday against a woman convicted of child abuse for torturing a 21-month-old girl with cold water, a judge lamented that his options “pale in comparison to any justice that should be doled out.” Mary Horsley, 51, was sentenced to 40 years in prison for her convictions on child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury and attempted child abuse with serious bodily injury. Boxing legend Micky Ward, whose story inspired the Mark Wahlberg film The Fighter, has revealed he was sexually abused as a child. In his autobiography, the 46-year-old retired boxer revealed he was molested by a family friend between the ages of nine and 12 in his hometown of Lowell, Massachusetts. ‘He never asked me to do anything to him, but rather I was always on the receiving end of his advances,’ he wrote of the ‘homeless bum’ who was 10 years his senior. Former newspaper proprietor Eddie Shah has been charged with several sex offenses, including the rape of a teenage girl, police said today. The 68-year-old was charged alongside a man and woman, both 52, at Hammersmith Police Station today. Nixa, Mo – Megan Bowman, a 23-year-old Missouri woman was jailed Sunday after she allegedly confessed to molesting two toddlers, taking lewd photographs and then sending the images to a man she met on the Internet.
