Mother Arrested In 4-YO’s Death

Police said they have arrested and charged 33-year-old Lakeya Johnson in the death of her 4-year-old daughter, who officials said had suffered massive head trauma as a result of child abuse. Dramiara Johnson had been taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital on Aug. 22 with significant head injuries, police said.

Arizona Child Deaths Increasing

PHOENIX, AZ – Newly released statistics released by Child Protective Services show the agency is understaffed and overworked, and critics argue its having a negative impact on children. According to its website, so far in 2011, CPS has recorded several deaths and near deaths from abuse or neglect. .

‘Hot Sauce Mom’ Eludes Jail Time

We bring to a close the case of Jessica Beagley, the Alaska mother convicted last week of child abuse for using hot sauce and a cold shower as punishment on her adopted son. A judge Monday gave the 36-year-old mother a 180-day jail sentence and fined her $2,500, but the judge suspended imposing those penalties on the condition that Beagley avoid committing any other criminal offenses for three years.

Doctor Charged With Jabbing 13-YO with Screwdriver 100x’s

An Emerson physician is accused of stabbing her 13-year-old adopted daughter with a screwdriver at least 100 times because the girl failed to wash her dog’s clothes properly, police and health officials said. Dr. Sylvia S. Lee, an allergist with offices in Wayne and Old Bridge, faces felony charges of aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child. Her license to practice medicine was suspended at an emergency meeting of a committee of the state Board of Medical Examiners.

Man Accused of Molesting Teen Boy

LUFKIN, TX–Lufkin Police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a teenage boy after forcing him to watch pornographic movies. Police arrested William Bass, 55, of Lufkin, on Tuesday, following an investigation which began on Aug. 15, after a 14-year-old boy told his mother Bass assaulted him. According to reports, the boy and his family know Bass and the child was allowed to spend the night at Bass’ home.

Man Threw His 7-YO Son Overboard On Cruise Ship

SANTA ANA, CA—A California man was arrested for investigation of throwing his crying 7-year-old son into the water from a sightseeing cruise boat during an argument that shocked other passengers, authorities said Monday. Sloane Briles, 35, was taken into custody for child endangerment and resisting arrest, Orange County sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino said.

Dominick Calhoun’s Mother Pleads Guilty to 2nd Degree Murder

FLINT, Michigan — Corrine Baker, accused of ignoring pleas for help from her 4-year-old son as he was allegedly tortured by her live-in boyfriend in Argentine Township last year, pled guilty today to second-degree murder and second degree child abuse, according to Genesee Circuit Court records.

Solider Brought 6-YO Daughter On Hurricane Murder Spree

FORT LEE, Virginia — Pennsylvania authorities hunting for a U.S. soldier accused of killing four people and opening fire on police officers have found the man’s body after he apparently took his own life, police said on Sunday. Police and prosecutors said the body they believed to be of Army Capt. Leonard John Egland, 37, of Fort Lee, Virginia, was found behind a vacant business at a major intersection of Warwick Township.

Mom Blames ‘Ghost’ For Death Of Two Daughters

North Carolina police say a mother accused of violently killing her two young daughters with a hatchet is claiming that a “ghost” committed a double-murder. Naiyana Gauri Patel was hospitalized on Saturday with self-inflicted injuries after attempting to take her own life with the same weapon she allegedly used kill her daughters, 4-year-old Piya and 7-year-old Jiya, the Asheville Citizen-Times reported.

10-YO Boy Denied Water, Died

DALLAS — A 10-year-old Dallas-area boy who died of dehydration after his father and stepmother kept water from him was being punished for wetting the bed, authorities say. The boy, Jonathan James died July 25 after water was kept from him for five days while temperatures soared to 100 degrees or more each day, police said. The boy’s dad, Michael Ray James, and stepmother, Tina Alberson, both 42, were jailed after being charged Thursday with injury to a child causing serious bodily injury.

Suspect in a 2010 rape case in now connected to two other cold cases

CLEVELAND – Cleveland police are asking for the public’s help in finding a person wanted in three different sexual assault cases. Recently, the Cleveland division of sex crimes/child abuse detectives asked for assistance in locating and identifying a man wanted for sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman in December 2010. Further investigation has revealed that the suspect from the 2010 rape case is also linked to two other violent rapes. The DNA from the wanted man has been linked to two cold case investigations.

Mother arrested after child found with broken leg, split liver

An Orangeburg County mother has been arrested and charged with child abuse after her 3-year-old child was found to have a broken leg and split liver. Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said 23-year-old Shanika Ann Riley was arrested Friday afternoon after hospital officials called the sheriff’s office to report Riley’s child was a victim of child abuse.

Man Abandoned Son In Foreclosed Home

LAKEVILLE, Minn. — A father abandoned his 11-year-old son last month, telling him in a letter to move in with neighbors because their south Minnesota home was in foreclosure, according to a warrant complaint seeking his arrest. Steven Alexander Cross, 60, left two notes for his son, according to the complaint charging him with a gross misdemeanor of child neglect. One letter said their home in Lakeville was going to be sold at a sheriff’s sale and instructed the boy to take his PlayStation and go to a neighbor’s house.

Dance Judge DISTURBING Details In Child Sex Case

Former “America’s Best Dance Crew” judge Shane Sparks allegedly sexually abused at least 6 young girls IN ADDITION to the woman who claims Sparks raped her when she was 12 years old  … this according to court documents obtained by TMZ.  The documents were just made public … following a plea deal Sparks made with the L.A. County District Attorney in which he received 270 days in jail after pleading no contest to having unlawful sex with a minor under 16.
