Child Rapist Gets Life Sentence

A Collin County jury Thursday gave a Plano man two life sentences in prison for sexual crimes committed against a child under age 14. Edgar Manuel Cisneros, 33, was found guilty of continuous sexual abuse of a child between Sept. 1, 2007 and July 25, 2009, and also guilty of aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

Mom Gets 24-Year Sentence For “Horrendous” Child Abuse

COLORADO SPRINGS — Weeping uncontrollably, a teenage mother was sentenced Friday to 24 years in prison for failing to intervene in what a judge called one of the worst cases of child abuse to come before his court. Samantha Salaz, 19, pleaded guilty to felony child abuse after ignoring her 20-month-old daughter’s cries in April as a family member allegedly bound her with electrical tape and left her incapacitated under a running shower. The toddler nearly drowned, authorities said.

Ontario Man Arrested for Child Porn

A 57-year-old city man was charged by two police services this week for crimes involving a child. Steven O’Link of Greater Sudbury was arrested on Thursday in Sudbury by the Hamilton Police Service’s Child Abuse branch for sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching involving a female under 18. Greater Sudbury Police’s Cyber Crimes unit got involved soon after when child pornography was found on the man’s computer. Sudbury police searched the man’s residence on Friday and seized a computer and data storage device.

Ecstasy Used to Treat Child Abuse & Rape Trauma,PTSD Victims

In what is said to be the first British trial of its kind, doctors are to use ecstasy to treat people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). According to them, it could help those who have experienced extremely distressing events — be they in battle, or as a result of child abuse or rape — to come to terms with their past.

‘Drop Dead Day’ Child Abuse Campaign

NORWALK, Conn. – It was “Drop Dead Day” on the lawn in front of Norwalk City Hall. Nearly 150 students from Brien McMahon High School suddenly dropped to the ground, followed by a solemn 30-minute period of silence As the students lay sprawled out and still, with their eyes closed, four other students stood like statues in front of them along East Ave. and Sunset Hill Ave. holding up signs to alert passing cars and pedestrians about their cause.

Court documents suggest parents follwed teachings the book “To Train Up a Child”

When 13-year-old Hana Grace Rose Williams died, she was found naked, face down in the mud in the backyard, in 42 degree weather. Charging documents in the murder case against her adoptive parents show Hana was the victim of ongoing abuse and neglect, a corporal punishment style of parenting straight out of a book sold on Amazon.com. The book is titled “To Train Up A Child.”

Texas–Child Wins Protection From CPS State Child Welfare Agency

A Texas court is sending an urgent message to child protective services agencies across the country: Stop harming children in the name of “protecting” them, according to a national child advocacy organization. The National Coalition for Child Protection Reform responded Thursday to a decision by a court in Texas ordering the Texas Child Protective Services agency to stay away from a 14-year-old girl. Such “orders of protection” are common in domestic violence cases.  “But we’ve never heard of such an order protecting a child from a child welfare agency – until now,” said NCCPR Executive Director Richard Wexler.

Police: Mother brutally abused 5-month-old daughter

NORWALK –The mother of a 5-month-old Norwalk child was arrested Thursday in what a police official called one of the most horrific cases of child abuse he has seen. The baby was admitted to Norwalk Hospital Sunday with seven fractured ribs, a fractured skull and a fractured arm, Youth Bureau Lt. Ashley Gonzalez said.

Female Teacher/Cheer Coach Charged with Child Sexual Abuse

Shawnee, Mission, Kansas– Michelle Preston, a 27-year-old World Geography teacher and cheer leading coach at Shawnee Mission West High School has been jailed after she allegedly had sex with three students. According to police, an investigation was launched earlier this year after nude photographs of the teacher allegedly began circulating around the school. Rumors that the teacher was having affairs with students also circulated around the school.

Couple Charged With Raping Toddler and 5-YO Girl

Portland, Oregon- William Gaskin, 40, and his girlfriend Desiree Chapman, 22, have been jailed following the alleged sexual abuse of a toddler and a 5-year-old girl. According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation was launched after the roommate of a 3-year-old girl’s parents came home to find Gaskin sexually abusing the toddler. The roommate called the little girl’s mother, who then contacted authorities.

SUNRISE, FL — Police said a 5-year-old child witnessed a horrific act after a domestic dispute ended in a double murder and suicide. Sunrise Police said, Sunday night, the child heard the fatal shots from inside a downstairs bedroom that claimed the lives of her mother and grandmother, at the townhouse near Del Rio Way and University Drive. According to Sunrise Police, 25-year-old Marcus Nathaniel Trotman shot and killed his wife, 30-year-old Danielle Lorenzo and her mother, 56-year-old Linda Scudera, before turning the gun on himself.
