And there was more trauma for the former supermodel on the latest episode of the show as she broke down while recalling the abuse she suffered as a child. In scenes shown on Wednesday night in the US, the 55-year-old sobbed as she revealed fears that she would never be able to ‘get a grip’ on the past after kicking the anti-anxiety drug Ativan.

Volusia County Sheriff’s deputies charged homeowners Keith Harms, 50 and his wife Robyn Harms, 46 with child abuse after a search warrant was executed. Police seized 71 cats and 12 dogs, and according to sheriff spokesperson Gary Davidson, the conditions in the house were “deplorable.”

Animal control agents had to wear masks and protective clothing and reported to have found anmal urine and “mounds” of animal waste in every room including furniture and on kitchen counters. The smell was offensive, and there were no clean areas in the house to prepare food. The 16 year-old was turned over to the Department of Children and Family Services.

(STICKNEY) Three Stickney teenagers and a man from Cicero gang-raped a 14-year-old girl and recorded the attacks on a cell phone, police and prosecutors said. Alex Picallo, 16, Majeed Khalifeh, 18, and Jonathan Leanos, 19, were charged with two counts each of aggravated criminal sexual assault in the incident at Leanos’ Stickney home Saturday, said Tandra Simonton, a spokeswoman for Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez.

LAKE CHARLES, LA – It was a crime that at first lent itself to crude jokes– a woman arrested for crime against nature after having the family dog perform oral sex on her. But the case involving Pamela Fruge and her husband Shelton unfolded into something even more sordid: severe child abuse. It was the sexually deviant behavior that first called attention to the case of Shelton and Pamela Fruge– when videos were discovered of one of the family dogs performing oral sex on her.  But as the facts unfolded authorities learned the case involved sexual exploitation of a six year old girl who was shown that video- and who Shelton raped. And the case had ties to a man in Denmark as D.A. John DeRrosier explains. “There was an individual who is now, I understand, under arrest in Denmark who was a willing participant in this and received some of the videos. It appears that this six year old female child was being prepared for sexual exploitation either personally physically or by video.”

GREENACRES, Fla. — Investigators said Tuesday a man who was on his normal Sunday walk found a barefoot 4-year-old girl, who was just attacked and raped, coming out of a wooded area near Weymouth Street.Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputies said Jim Hight took a shortcut to get his usual morning coffee and paper at about 6 a.m. when he stumbled upon a the girl walking out of the bushes, crying for help. Hight said he immediately called 911.

The NSPCC has ‘revealed’ that hundreds of children contact the ChildLine helpline every year to report that they have been sexually abused by women. It made the announcement after it was announced that an online pedophile ring involved four women, although it was headed up by a man (not an excuse though, is it?). The police said that it was “unusual” for women to be involved in sexual abuse – adding that “we expect to see men involved in child abuse” – and while it is true that the vast majority of abuse is carried out by men this case presents a much-needed opportunity to shine a light on the extremely taboo subject of abuse by women.

Many moons ago, when I was an intern in Boston, I was assigned to do a history and physical on a teenager. She had been hospitalized multiple times for recurrent kidney infections that had spread to her blood stream and nobody could figure out why, so the kidneys were removed as they were chronically infected, and now she was dialysis dependent. She also continued to have mysterious outbreaks of bacteria in her bloodstream. The puzzle had been solved by an astute physician, who found a syringe filled with cloudy fluid that contained the bacteria that she had been infected with in her room. It turned out that the patient’s mother, with the patient’s knowledge, had been injecting her with the bacteria. This was my introduction to Munchausen’s syndrome.

LOVINGTON, N.M. – A 27-year-old man has pleaded guilty to a count of child abuse resulting in death as a jury was being selected for his trial in Lovington in southeastern New Mexico. Christopher Elliott entered a plea agreement with prosecutors Tuesday in the death last May of 21-month-old Braxtin Kuykendall. He also pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of child abuse.

MAN STABBED 12-YEAR OLD GIRL AT MCDONALD’S–John Robert Murphy III is charged with injury to a child with serious bodily injury, a Felony 1offense. A Felony 1 offense carries a stiffer penalty than attempted murder or aggravated assault. This is not his first run-in with the law. Originally from Houston, Murphy has two previous charges out of Harris County, car burglary and resisting arrest. No emotion is visible in 23 year-old John Murphy’s face as he saunters toward a College Station Police car. “It makes you feel a little uneasy,” said Macey Lough, a College Station resident.

A British couple who allegedly abused their son and daughter online while others watched have been arrested after police smashed an international paedophile ring. The pair, who have not been named, were running an ‘open naturist’ website for parents who also abused their children, according to police. They were tracked down as part of Task Force Argos, an operation led by detectives in Queensland, Australia, according to the Herald Sun newspaper.

A central Minnesota man sexually assaulted three children in his home dozens of times, photographing and video-recording some of the acts during parts of three years, according to charges filed Monday. James S. Whitcomb, 48, of Zimmerman, was charged in Sherburne County District Court with first-, second-, third- and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. He is jailed in lieu of $50,000 bail with conditions.

A Nevada man already facing child pornography charges was accused this week of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy. James McCurdy, 49, of 85 Lincoln Way, No. 1, Nevada, is in Story County Jail awaiting charges of sexual exploitation of a minor after authorities found images of minors engaged in sex acts on his computer’s hard drive. The investigation into McCurdy, who lived with one adult son and three juveniles, all adopted, began in February 2010 when Ames Police were contacted by Ames High School staff regarding a male student who said he had been sexually abused.
