ANCHORAGE, Alaska — An Anchorage woman is charged with child abuse because of a “Dr.Phil” TV show appearance in which the audience saw video of her disciplining a 7-year-old son by putting hot sauce in his mouth and forcing him into a cold shower. The methods chosen by Jessica Beagley were unreasonable, said municipal prosecutor Cynthia Franklin. The lawyer for the 36-year-old mother said the city is intruding into a family matter.

Police: Family Member Severely Beats 11-Year-Old Rape Victim

PHOENIX – An 11-year-old girl who had been sexually assaulted was moments later viciously beaten by an adult family member and had to spend six days in the ICU, according to police. On Jan. 10, patrol officers responded to a home in the 8600 block of W Turney in west Phoenix. According to court documents, an 11-year-old girl had been severely beaten by a family member, 34-year-old Jon Gary.

Grants, NM – Police arrested a Grants High School teacher Thursday night for beating two of his children with a stick in a locker room at the school. 27-Year old Armando Melendez faces two counts of child abuse and one count of tampering with evidence. According to the arrest warrant, the 8-year old boys were playing basketball in the high school gym after school hours last week. Melendez took the boys into the locker room and spanked them with a metal stick he had found at the school.

Des Plaines, IL — A Great Lakes man was arrested after he was found having sex with a 13-year-old inside a parked car in Lion’s Woods Forest Preserve. He had met the girl on MySpace when she was 12. Steve Burton, 20, admitted that he had been chatting and texting with the girl for six (6) months, and had met her for sex on at least four (4) other occasions. He stated that he was aware of the girl’s real age.

Four Los Fresnos teenagers are facing criminal charges after they allegedly sodomized another teen with a cell phone and videotaped the whole thing. Cameron County Sheriff Omar Lucio spoke to Action 4 News about the ongoing investigation. Sheriff Lucio said the incident happened on Monday between a group of teens who were all friends and playing a game at home named “pants.” The sheriff reports that four teens between 13 and 14 years old grabbed the 15-year-old victim and forced a cell phone into his anus. Lucio said the teens videotaped the whole incident.

Henrietta, N.Y. – Kevin Minemier, 18, of Henrietta, is accused of stabbing, Nicole Bean, 17, at Wegmans Tuesday night. It happened inside the store, in the frozen foods section. Minemier and Bean were boyfriend and girlfriend, according to Monroe County Sheriff’s Department. Minemier was arraigned at 1:26 a.m. Wednesday in Henrietta. Minemier faces two counts of assault and one count of attempted murder. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 31.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A West Side teen is accused of raping a 10-year-old boy at the Hilltop Branch Library Tuesday. Michael Hill, 19, has been charged with gross sexual imposition, kidnapping and rape in connection with a 10-year-old boy, according to court records. The alleged molestation happened at about 5 p.m. Tuesday in a restroom at the Hilltop Branch Library, 511 S. Hague Ave., according to Columbus police. The boy was at the library with his older sister.

TEMECULA — A 9-year-old girl is dead and her two siblings hospitalized after their mother lost control of the family SUV. It happened around 3 p.m. at Redhawk and Vail Ranch parkways, said Lt. Ron Heim of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. The SUV struck a tree, slammed into a light pole and overturned, authorities said. Coroner’s officials identified the dead girl as Chloe Honeycutt of Temecula.

NEW YORK — An adjunct professor who teaches at several city-area colleges was arrested and charged Wednesday for sending photos of his genitals to an undercover police officer posing as a 14-year-old girl. According to prosecutors, Igor Sorkin, 31, was busted in Queens Tuesday shortly after arriving at an arranged meeting location where he thought he was going to engage in sexual activity with the girl.
