DETROIT — A Michigan man posed as a psychologist and persuaded mothers across the country to sexually assault their children as a form of therapy, then send him the images of the attacks, authorities said Monday. Since authorities arrested him in October, seven children were rescued and at least three mothers have been arrested. Prosecutors say all of the children are now safe.

Markham, Ill. – A 13-year-old south suburban boy was routinely chained to a dryer as his father and his girlfriend slept, after being beaten by the adults with everything from bamboo scratchers to yard sticks to a broken ax handle, prosecutors allege. Hugo Dominguez, 38, of 444 N. Park Dr. in Glenwood was charged Thursday with one count of aggravated domestic battery. His girlfriend Mary Ramirez, 38, of the same address, is charged with one count of unlawful restraint.

DELTA – A Delta man is being held on suspicion of multiple sex offenses. Roberto Vicencio-Miramontes, 28, was arrested Thursday for allegedly sexually assaulting the same girl 234 times. He is the second Delta man in a month to be accused of hundreds of sex offenses; last week, police arrested Jeffrey Bigham on suspicion of more than 800 sex offenses. Vicencio is accused of sexually touching the same girl at least three times a week, for more than a year. The alleged abuse began when she was in sixth grade, and sometimes occurred in the girl’s bed, as her younger sister slept.

California—Police arrested two University Of California Santa Cruz students after conducting a child pornography sting. Jonathan Tolentino, 28, turned himself in and presented a letter of apology admitting he had been watching child porn. I’m sure his lawyer appreciated that. Priests in Sweden join the ranks of paedophiles

The Catholic Church of Sweden confirms three priests are believed to have sexually abused children over the span of 30 years. It is reported that the paedophile priests, one of whom is dead, sexually abused a collective of five children between 1940 and 1970, thus falling under that statute of limitation. Stockholm Bishop Anders Arborelius said Saturday there could “be no redemption” for the three.

A 29-year-old Phoenix man was arrested Friday morning on suspicion of sexually assaulting his children and stepchildren and forcing them to take drugs, Phoenix police said. Police believe the man’s two daughters, stepdaughter and stepson were victims of abuse, Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos said. Police believe the abuse took place between 2004 and 2010, when the children ranged in age from 5 to 13 years old.

The details of Nubia Barahona’s death are grisly: Soaked in toxic chemicals, decomposed and stuffed in a garbage bag, she was found rotting on the shoulder of the interstate on Valentines Day. Authorities believe she had been stashed in a septic tank for weeks before her adoptive father dug up her corpse.

Statistically, however, Nubia’s story is rather common: She is one of hundreds of Florida children who died of abuse or neglect during the last decade after child welfare authorities had performed at least one investigation into their welfare. Florida not only leads the United States in the number of such deaths, it dominates the nation.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla — A man faces charges of raping a two-year-old girl last week at SeaWorld Orlando after her mother left him to watch the toddler, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. The crime was discovered when pictures of the rape were found on Michael Grzybowicz’s cell phone, sheriff’s records state. A member of the Cocoa Police Department’s Sex Crimes Unit confiscated the phone.
