ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. – A Rowan County couple has been arrested on charges of animal cruelty and child abuse, accused of leaving their children home in a house filled with trash. Angela Lore, 35, and David Lore Jr., 37, have both been charged with three counts of animal cruelty, four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and four counts of child abuse.

WATONGA, Oklahoma — Authorities have taken booked a man into jail on a murder complaint of an 8-year-old Watonga girl. A man found his eight-year-old daughter Rosalyn Reynolds’ body around 5 a.m. Wednesday behind an apartment building at 500 Leach Street in Watonga. Police said the father saw the girl’s cousin, 20-year-old James Daukei, in the field with the body. Daukei ran from the scene when confronted by the girl’s father and two other men.

A New York man is currently behind bars today after being charged with raping a 4-year-old Pennsylvania girl. Jeffrey Allen Abbey Jr., of Jamestown, has been charged with felony rape of a child, felony involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, felony aggravated indecent assault, felony sexual assault, felony statutory sexual assault, felony corruption of minor, indecent assault and simple assault.

MARS HILL, Maine — A Maine judge handed down a 15-year prison sentence to a woman convicted of sexually abusing her 2-year-old daughter and streaming the acts over the internet to a teenager in the United Kingdom. Julie Carr, 33, received a 20-year sentence last week after she was convicted on child pornography charges, according to court documents.

Father Accused of Torturing Family, Killing Teenage Son

SAN BERNARDINO — A 35-year old man has been arrested for murder and torture after allegedly killing his 16-year old son and wounding five other family members. Deputies responded to the home in the 6700 block Merito Avenue at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday after receiving a 911 call from a neighbor reporting a man screaming for help inside the home.

CANADA–Millions of images of children being sexually abused have been seized after search warrants were executed on five New Brunswick homes Wednesday, say the RCMP. Members of the RCMP J Division’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) and several other agencies served search warrants on homes in Moncton, Havelock, Grand Bay-Westfield, Dumfries and Petit-Rocher-Ouest.

FAIRMONT — A Fairmont man and his girlfriend are behind bars for child abuse and neglect charges. The State Police arrested Eric Harris, 30, and Jessica Swift, 27, after Harris’ daughter showed up to school with a black eye. According to the criminal complaint, state police began its investigation after receiving a call from Marion County Child Protective Services.

A report from the Iowa Department of Human Services shows cases of child abuse rose by 69 percent in Muscatine County and 50 percent in Louisa County from 2009 to 2010. Counselors at the Mississippi Valley Child Protection Center in Muscatine offer care for children who have been abused. They say they are concerned about the rise in reports but say it also means that people are doing a better job when it comes to reporting child abuse.

A German man whose stepdaughter bore eight of his children has been sentenced to 14 years in prison. “This is about a pitiless egoist. He viewed his family as his property,” Judge Winfried Hetger said. According to ABC News, the defendant, a 48-year-old unemployed truck driver identified only as Detlef S., sat emotionless as he was convicted of 162 counts of sexual abuse.

The Beatrice Daily Sun reports that authorities believe John Hintz forced the child to do push-ups with closed fists on rocks while Hintz placed his foot on the child’s back. That was after learning the boy had stolen a candy bar. Authorities say when the child could no longer do push-ups, Hintz forced him to run laps until he had blisters on both feet.
