An investigation is to be launched today to pin down the full extent of sexual exploitation, predatory grooming and abuse of children by gangs. Thousands of children are feared to be caught up in the abuse with figures suggesting 10,000 may be affected in England, but some research points to the problem being far worse.

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Three people are behind bars tonight facing a laundry list of charges revolving around the sexual abuse of two children, both under the age of 10. 44-year-old Leroy Jackson, his sister 40-year-old Vanessa Jackson-Wagner and Leroy’s 21-year-old son Emmanual Jackson have been charged with first degree sex offense of a child, along with child abuse.

Kansas City Diocese, Bishop, Charged With Child Abuse, Porn Cover-Up

Oct. 14– The Kansas City, Missouri, Catholic Diocese and Bishop Robert Finn have been criminally charged with failing to report another clergyman’s suspected child abuse, a state prosecutor said. “Finn and the diocese — between Dec. 16, 2010, and May 11, 2011 — had reasonable cause to suspect that a child may be subjected to abuse,” by Father Shawn Ratigan, said Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker in a statement today citing the indictment.

13-MO Dies After Ingesting Pills From Bottle Used As Rattle

THE BRONX—A Bronx baby died after he ingested prescription medicine from a bottle he reportedly was given to use as a rattle. Authorities say the 13-month-old, identified by police as Edwin Perocier, was discovered unconscious and unresponsive when responding officers arrived to the family’s Longwood home on Southern Boulevard sometime before 8 a.m. Friday.

We believe children should be valued and nurtured by both their families and the larger family of humankind. 25 – 50% of all children will experience some form of abuse during childhood. One of every three girls will be sexually abused before the age of 18; and one out of every five to seven boys will be sexually abused by 18. In Missouri, there are over 60,000 children involved in the child protection system each year.

Man Accused of Molestation Brutally Kills Victim, Victim’s Mother, Self

GULFPORT, MS–An outbreak of violence in a normally quiet Orange Grove neighborhood ended with three people dead, a community in shock, and a lot of unanswered questions. Authorities say they believe 70-year-old Paul Buckman killed 45-year old Karen Denise Ferguson and her 21-year old son Trevor Cole Ferguson before turning the gun on himself. Less than three months ago, the Ferguson family filed sexual battery charges against Paul Buckman for allegedly molesting one of their family members–He was out on a $50,000 bond.

Bus Attendant Charged With Abuse After Biting Student

A 70-year-old former school-bus attendant faces trial for child abuse after she beat and bit a teen she said had bullied her. A camera on the bus captured the incident, which happened June 2 on a school bus parked at Lakeland Senior High School.
