7-MO Baby Dead, Father Arrested

TUCSON – A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged with First Degree Murder and five counts of Child Abuse in connection to the death of his 7 month old son. Pima Co. Sheriff’s detectives confirm to News 4 depuites responded to a residence in the area of Palo Verde Rd. South of Drexel around 7:30 am Thursday morning in reference to an infant not breathing.

Do Open Courts Re-Abuse Child Abuse Victims?

Child and adolescent psychiatrists who treat emotionally vulnerable child abuse victims have stated in three surveys that publicity of these children’s stories may increase their mental health problems and make treatment more difficult and protracted. After a year of studying other open court systems as well as its own, the Connecticut Juvenile Access Pilot Program Advisory Board on Dec. 31 recommended against presumptively open juvenile courts.

The world’s largest organization of children’s attorneys, the National Association of Council for Children, opposes open juvenile courts like those envisioned in the pilot project proposed by California’s AB 73.

The police investigation into former Beaverton Middle School math teacher Logan B. Jack Storm started last summer when his girlfriend discovered pornographic images on his laptop of 8- to 11-year-old girls having sex with adult males, according to court papers.  The girlfriend told detectives with the Multnomah County child abuse team that her relationship had soured with Storm when she learned he was “spending time with a female who is a former student and is a stripper,” a search warrant affidavit says.

Father Faces Capital Murder Charges For Infant’s Death

The charge against 18-year-old Zacchaeus Brown in connection with the death of his infant son has been upgraded to capital murder. Brown was originally charged with felony child abuse, even after 5-month-old Jaheem Brown died. But police said that charge would hinge upon what the autopsy revealed. It started Thursday afternoon at 203 Wilshire Avenue. AMR was called, and transported five-month-old Jaheem Brown to UMC.

Alessandra Perez told her therapist about abuse of her relatives

It took a child to report possible child abuse of her relatives. Alessandra Perez, 6, could be viewed as the heroic figure in the tragic case that has resulted in a little girl’s death and a disturbing discovery on the side of a busy intersection. Alessandra is the granddaughter of Jorge Barahona, who was found passed out Monday in his truck on the side of Interstate 95 with his 10-year-old son suffering from acid burns in the passenger seat and his daughter’s dead body in a bag in the back of the truck.

Teacher Arrested For Abusing Student

Fort Caroline Middle School teacher Michael Brown was arrested Feb. 9 on a charge of child abuse after a student was hit in a hallway.Duval County school district spokeswoman Jill Johnson had no further information on the event that lead to Brown’s arrest. But she confirmed the 40-year-old teacher has been removed from the classroom pending further investigation, still employed but in a position that doesn’t involve student contact.

ENID — A Kingfisher man was arrested Wednesday following the filing of a felony count of procuring, possessing and distributing child pornography. Charges were filed Wed-nesday in Kingfisher County District Court against 24-year-old Keith Medders based upon an investigation by Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

Suicidal Father Arrested For Child Rape, Arson

Despite being threatened with a knife and homemade flame thrower, four Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies forced their way into a burning mobile home in Chattaroy early Wednesday and rescued a suicidal sex crimes suspect. David W. Jewell was treated at a local hospital and then booked into the Spokane County Jail on felony counts of first-degree arson and first-degree child molestation.

Illinois Senate Passes ‘Erin’s Law’

Thursday night just before 8pm I got word from Senator Tim Bivins that we would testify tomorrow morning before the senate education committee at 9am. That was going to make for a very early morning. I kept waking up all night then Chance woke me barking at 2am to be walked. Then finally got up at 3:30am. I drove my car to Dekalb, Illinois where I met with Chief Dan Langloss of Dixon Illinois. Together we drove down to the state capital of Illinois in Springfield.

“Accused Killer Should Be ‘Put To Death”

NEW YORK– The man long suspected of being Marc Bookal’s killer was charged with murder Wednesday afternoon in the death of the 4-year-old Orange C0unty boy. District Attorney Frank Phillips said Byrd, the boyfriend of Bookal’s mother, has been charged with four counts of homicide and two counts of tampering with physical evidence.

Father Of Famous Music Group Pleads Guilty To Molestation

Provo • The father of musical group The 5 Browns on Thursday pleaded guilty to sexually abusing his daughters when they were children. Keith Scott Brown, 55, was charged with one count of first-degree felony sodomy upon a child and two counts of second-degree felony sexual abuse of a child. A sentencing was scheduled for March. The charges indicate Brown engaged in sexual conduct with a child under the age of 14 between November 1990 and October 1992. Brown also sexually abused a child between March 1997 and March 1998, according to the charges.

Internet Child Abuse Increase

Children Commissioner Helen D’Amato: “In the past bullying stopped at the school door, today it is 24/7.”

By the time cases of child abuse over the internet reach the police, they are much “too messy”, according to Police Inspector Trevor Sammut from the cybercrimes unit. He appealed to kids to continue enjoying these tools but to be supervised responsibly and taught about the consequences of their bad use. Mr Sammut was speaking at the launch of the national initiative BeSmartOnline, set up for a safer internet, establishing, operating and promoting reporting facilities for abuse and providing support to victims and their families.

7 Indicted On Abuse And Neglect Charges

MARTINSBURG – A former Berkeley County school teacher who allegedly abused her six children and a couple who allegedly starved two children and locked them in a basement were among seven people indicted Wednesday on child abuse and neglect-related charges. The indictments came during the second day of the February session of the Berkeley County grand jury.

  • A major police investigation is underway into a child exploitation ring targeting children as young as 12, it emerged today. Detectives have taken the extraordinary step of writing to more than 16,000 parents of secondary school pupils in south Devon to alert them to the investigation. The inquiry is believed to centre on young men who are sexually exploiting youngsters – mostly girls but some boys – aged between 12 and 15.
