THE State Government has launched a review into a program for people who sexually assault their own children after a Casino man who entered the program escaped a prison sentence, despite admitting he sexually abused his young daughter 74 times.

However, the man, who cannot be named, will not go to jail for his crimes, with Attorney-General John Hatzistergos saying the man’s referral to the Cedar Cottage program cannot be appealed.

MONUMENT, Colo.—Investigators continue to search for a couple who had custody of a girl whose body was found in a vacant home near Colorado Springs.

The body of 9-year-old Genesis Sims was found May 14 in the crawl space of a vacant town house in Monument. Authorities confirmed her identity Tuesday.

OCEAN PINES, Md.- Ocean Pines police have arrested a 19-year-old woman accused of abusing a severely disabled child whom she was babysitting.

Portland, OR – In last week’s update, I wrote that Kaine Horman took the child he has with Terri Horman and moved out of the house before filing for a divorce and a restraining order. Now we may know why. According to an article published by the Oregonian on Sunday, a landscaper who worked for Kyron’s family told detectives that Terri offered to pay him “a lot of money” to kill Kaine. The unnamed landscaper said Terri approached him with the murder-for-hire plot about six or seven months before Kyron disappeared.

Newark, NJ – Oquan Blake, 24, was arrested Thursday night and charged with the sexual assault and murder of his girlfriend’s 7-month-old daughter, Dalaysia Rhymer. According to authorities, the 21-year-old mother left Dalaysia in the care of her grandmother and Blake on June 26th so she could attend a Gay Pride festival. When the baby’s grandmother had a medical emergency and needed to be hospitalized, Blake was left alone with the infant. It didn’t take long for that baby to get on Blake’s nerves.

OKLAHOMA CITY Police were called tot he parking lot of a Buy 4 Less after people reported a man approaching people with small children and making lewd comments. One woman said 33-year-old Andre Lashun Holloway walked up to her and her 4-year-old daughter and said “You’re going to be in trouble when I rape your daughter.” She jumped in her car and called 911. Another family told police that Holloway asked them if he could rape their child.

Investigators in the Southern Russian city of Orenburg suspect members a local self-development foundation of indulging in sex orgies, which minors could have witnessed.

LOUDON, Tenn., July 6 (UPI) — A Tennessee man videotaped sex acts with his toddler son and posted them on the Internet, police say.

Edward Crandall, 23, of Lenoir City was arrested Thursday at the convenience store where he works, the Knoxville News Sentinel reported. He is being held in the Loudon County Jail, charged with two counts of child rape.

Police hunting alleged child rapist

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Police are looking for a Guatemalan man in connection with the brutal rape of a 4-year-old girl Saturday, which has left the girl in serious condition at Baystate Medical Center.

According to Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney, Edlizar Mazariegos, 22, is wanted for aggravated rape of a child with force. Mazariegos, who has also used the name Edy Gonzales, is described as being 5-foot-3-inches tall, with a heavy build and was last seen driving a blue Dodge Durango with two white racing stripes down the hood and roof. The vehicle has a South Carolina license plate number of FSX-544, a dented passenger door and a novelty front license plate with an eagle on it, according to Delaney.

Jon Mark Beilue asked an important question in a column he wrote for this paper last Friday: When does child discipline become child abuse?

The question arises from an incident in which a local police officer apparently struck his own child and then came under investigation by the state’s Child Protective Services.

Beilue mentioned that he had had his hide tanned more than once when he was young, and I accept at face value his conclusions that he both deserved it and learned from it. He went on to say that the majority of comments on the topic lamented the fact that parents could get in trouble for “disciplining” a child.

A toddler is dead and two people have been arrested for his death.

Pitt County deputies say the child, who was two years and four months old, was found dead Tuesday morning at a home on Moores Lane in Grimesland.

Stephen Foreman has been charged with murder and felony child abuse while Denise Garcia has been charged with felony child abuse.
