EL MIRAGE, AZ – The parents of six children in El Mirage have been charged with child abuse after police report the couple’s children were living in a dirty, cockroach-infested home. Sabrina and Richard Garcia were arrested Sunday night and their six children, all between the ages of 4- and 12-years-old were taken into protective custody and later placed with a family member. Officers were originally called to the home on Windrose Drive, near 115th Avenue, after Sabrina and Richard got into a verbal altercation. However when the officers entered the home, they reported the house smelled of rotting food and trash, which was spread throughout the home.

PORTLAND, Ore. — A 3-month-old child was taken to a hospital in critical condition after his mother attempted to circumcise him at home, police said.Portland police Sgt. Pete Simpson said officers arrived at a home at Northeast 127th Avenue and Burnside Street at about 2 a.m. Sunday to assist medics after a call of an injured child.Police said they learned the mother had attempted to perform a medical procedure on the infant.

Memphis TN – A woman has been arrested and charged with aggrivated child abuse after after she called 911 to report injuries to a 3 year old after claiming he fell after a bathroom accident. At the hospital, doctors took notice of injuries, including bruises over most of his body and face.  The boy was also suffering from cuts on his legs, a fractured right thigh, and a cigarette burn on his shoulder. Upon questioning, however, Daniella Ramirez confessed to abusing the child.

VICTORVILLE, Calif. ( KTLA) — A 13-year-old Victorville girl who authorities say left home with a 22-year-old suspected sex offender, triggering an Amber Alert, has been found safe in Las Vegas. The missing girl and 22-year-old Ivan Lopez were found safe in Las Vegas Tuesday after leaving the girl’s home early Sunday morning. Lopez was taken into police custody. The girl’s father made an emotional plea for his daughter to come home in a YouTube video.

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. — A newborn is dead after being attacked by the family pit bull. Police say they were called to the baby’s home about a dog attack late Sunday. The child’s father, Mark Valentin says the dog attacked 4-day old Justin on the bed while the mother took a shower. The newborn died at a hospital. State Department of Children & Families spokesman John Harrell tells The Florida Times-Union that the state agency is working with police to investigate whether the baby was being supervised and whether the dog previously showed aggressive behavior.

ONTARIO — A Roman Catholic priest pleaded not guilty Tuesday to repeatedly molesting a 12-year-old boy. Jose Alejandro Castillo, 57, the pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Ontario — known as “Father Alex” — was arrested Monday at his home. Prosecutors say Castillo molested a 12-year-old boy two years ago, and Ontario police say they suspect he molested at least two other teens. Castillo entered pleas Tuesday to eight counts of lewd acts against a child, according to the San Bernardino County district attorney’s office.

A 12-year-old boy pleaded guilty to a charge of manslaughter in the High Court at Gisborne this morning, making him one of the country’s youngest killers. The boy, who has name suppression, entered the dock with his father. The boy had been charged with murder but entered the plea on what was meant to be the first day of his trial. Heavy suppression surrounds the case, but it can be revealed the boy’s father was also to face a charge of being an accessory to murder after the fact.

WESTMINSTER – A woman who pleaded guilty to charges of child abuse resulting in death after the body of a baby was found in her basement was sentenced to eight years in a community corrections facility on Monday. The Adams County District Attorney’s office says 25-year-old Melinda Hudson pleaded guilty to criminally negligent child abuse causing death in August. She was charged on Monday in Adams County District Court. The district attorney says a baby was found by Hudson’s father in March. He told investigators he smelled a foul odor coming from the basement and located the body of the baby in a bag in the corner.

Joliet, IL – Paul Carlos wondered why his normally rambunctious 2-year-old son behaved so angelically for the sitter, 52-year-old Erin Denny. “He’s going through the terrible twos, but he listens to her,” Paul said. “That struck me as kind of odd.” So, he decided to set up a nanny-cam. When he picked his son up after work on Tuesday, he and the kid sat down to view the recording. It was then that he witnessed Erin beating the snot out of his kid. “I didn’t think there was going to be anything bad on that video,” Paul said before describing how his kiddo freaked at the sight of himself being beaten by the bad sitter. “He screamed and he jumped.” Apparently, Erin couldn’t find the remote for the TV, so she took to beating on the toddler.

Visalia, CA – Last Friday, parents of children attending Visalia elementary schools received phone calls of a recording informing them that a man has attempted to lure children into his car near two different, local schools. The man is described as being a dark complected Hispanic male wearing black wire rimmed glasses and between the ages of 30 and 40 driving a tan or beige four door sedan. The first attempt was on Oct 13, near Washington Elementary where he pulled up alongside a young girl at about 8am and asked her a question. She ran away after turning around and seeing that he was not wearing any pants.

VENTURA (KTLA) — A 54-year-old surfer has been cited on misdemeanor battery charges after police say he attacked a 14-year-old boy who was riding the same wave during a surfing competition. The teen was taking part in a youth surf competition sponsored by the Western Surfer Association Sunday at Surfers Point near 399 Figueroa Street Ventura. Just before noon, the 14-year-old was catching a wave when 54-year-old Mark Frame of Ventura, who was not involved in the competition, caught the same wave and rode behind him.

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A woman who conceived several children through an affair with a man unaware of her pregnancies was charged Monday with homicide after tests on remains found in coolers or encased in concrete showed at least four infants were born alive but killed, authorities said. Michele Kalina, 44, of Reading, kept the remains in her closet until her husband and daughter found them in July, authorities said Monday.

The mounting tension in the case of missing Oregon 8-year-old Kyron Horman has surfaced again in a court filing. In newly released documents, Kyron’s father, Kaine Horman, states that he believes the boy’s stepmother “caused unimaginable harm” to Kyron.

Kaine Horman strongly believes Terri Moulton-Horman “abducted and may have caused unimaginable harm” to Kyron, reads the court filing, obtained by KGW News Channel 8. Moulton-Horman “also attempted to hire a third party to murder him. Such extreme and unexplainable behavior cannot be taken lightly by [Kaine Horman] or the court.”
