Mother of alleged 5-yr old rape victim arrested

CUBA, N.Y. (WIVB) – The mother of a five-year-old child is charged, in connection to the rape of her child.

Thirty-year-old Brandy L. Irvin, Cuba, allegedly knew there was sexual contact between 33-year-old Paul T. Leonard of Olean and her five-year-old daughter, and never reported it to authorities.

Father Receives Sentencing In Shaken Baby Death

BRIGHTON, Colo. — A 23-year-old Adams County man has been sentenced to 48 years in prison after he was found guilty of child abuse resulting in death for the 2009 death of his 6-month-old special needs son.Justin Michael Taylor was arrested in February 2009 after his son, Julian Adams-Lacas, died of a severe head injury.

Accused child murderer has history of violence

PANAMA CITY — The suspect in the murder of his 20-month-old son previously served time in the Washington County Jail on battery charges.

Thomas Everitt Brown, 23, has spent time in the Washington County Jail on misdemeanor battery charges according to Washington County Circuit Court records. Records show that Brown was arrested originally on charges of aggravated battery/domestic violence in on Feb. 10, 2008, and was facing action on those charges when he was arrested in March 2009 on battery charges.

Adoptive parents elude murder charge in child’s death

Alibra Nichols and Donald Miller [Oklahoma Co jail]

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma County District Attorney’s office has filed child abuse, neglect and enabling abuse charges against Alibra Nichols and Donald Miller.

Nichols was the adoptive mother of 3-year-old Larandon Nichols and Miller is the woman’s boyfriend.

Man charged with battery and sexual abuse of 4-yr-old boy

Chad Everett Brady, 35, of Washington, is accused of the battery  and sexual abuse of 4-year-old boy.

A Washington man has been arrested and charged with battery and sexual battery after a 4-year-old had to seek medical attention. Currently being held in the St. Landry Parish Jail on the charges is Chad Everett Brady, 35, 130 Lediana Lane, Washington.

The fight against child sexual abuse took another step forward with today’s launch of the “One With Courage” campaign.

Officials from the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas and state Sen. Florence Shapiro kicked off the statewide initiative this morning in Plano.

Man Charged With Murder After Throwing Stone In Car, Killing Teen

Lexington, NC – The man who threw the paving stone into a car that killed 17-year-old Shelby Chisom has been charged with 1st-degree murder. Chisolm attended a party on Friday that spilled into the early morning hours of Saturday. She had arrived at the party with a new boyfriend and according to Chisolm’s mother, this upset her ex-boyfriend’s cousin, 21-year-old Michael John Craver. As Chisom was leaving the party with several friends, Craver allegedly threw a 12 x 12 x 2 inch thick paving stone into the open  passenger window of the car she was in, striking her in the abdomen.

Documents Reveal Teen Day Care Worker Admitted To Sexually Abusing  Up To 13 Kids

Denver, Colorado – More details coming out in regards to the day care that was closed down earlier this month after a child reported one of the workers had touched them inappropriately. Court documents reveal that 19-year-old Benjamin Janicki has admitted to sexually assaulting at least 13 of the children at the Park Hill United Methodist Children’s Center where he worked for a couple of months. Most of the abuse occurred while the preshoolers were lying on mats. It is then that Janicki would “tickle” parts of the children’s bodies. One of the children told their parents about the abuse and they in turn notified police.

TAMPA – A 39-year old man has been arrested after allegedly attacking his girlfriend with a machete while her daughters watched. Officers were called to 2202 East Thrace Street around 8:30 p.m.

Teen charged with felony child abuse

YUKON, Oklahoma — The Canadian County District Attorney has charged an 18 year old with felony child abuse for allegedly using an infant as a “stress ball.”

Doctors notified authorities after they noticed marks consistent with child abuse on a 3 month old who had been brought in for treatment.

Resolution to End Child Abuse Unveiled

Childhelp unveiled a resolution Friday that brought together all 50 Governors of the Uunion to stand against child abuse and resolve to eradicate it. A joint press conference was held with Arizona Governor Jan Brewer to announce the resolution.

The resolution states:

Whereas, children are America’s most precious asset and deserve our most committed support and protection; and whereas, the issue of child abuse and neglect is a serious and growing problem in America; and whereas, every 10 seconds a child is abused in America and whereas, ever day five children die as the result of child abuse in America; and whereas, ever year millions of children are abused in America; and whereas, due to the current economic downturn child abuse has been increasing in incidences and in severity in America. Now, therefore, be it resolved, that we, the Governors of the fifty United States of America and affiliated Territories, hereby pledge to do everything in our power to fight and bring an end to child abuse in America.

5-mth old baby dies from child abuse

A 5-month-old baby girl from Indiana died Saturday from child abuse, an autopsy has determined.

Juliana Klobucar, 5 months, of Merrillville, Ind., was pronounced dead at 2:13 a.m. Saturday at the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospitals at 2:13 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Mother arrested for drugs & child abuse

Ocala, Florida — The mother of a 2-month-old was arrested over the weekend after someone called 911 from the Ramada Inn where they were staying at. Officers arrived at the Ramada Inn on Blitchton Road in Ocala just before 10 p.m. Sunday and found Erica Orme and another woman, Peggy Dutton, in a smoke-filled room. That is when officers found marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

3 newborn babies bodies found stuffed in suitcases

AMSTERDAM — Dutch police say they have arrested a young woman on suspicion of killing three of her newborn babies shortly after their births over an eight-year period.

Regional police commissioner Wim van Essen says the 25-year-old woman was detained after a neighbor noticed her pregnancies but never saw any children.
