Elliott is accused of failing to seek medical attention for her 5-year old niece’s injured nose and allowed the child’s nose to become so infected it will now require multiple surgeries to repair. The investigation stemmed from a Department of Children’s Services probe into injuries the child sustained. The child’s nose had degraded to the point that a plastic surgeon said the membrane of the septum is gone and will require multiple surgeries to repair.

ERWIN — A Unicoi man is facing child abuse and animal cruelty charges following his Tuesday arrest for allegedly striking one of his girlfriend’s children, duct taping her dog’s legs to its body, and rubbing the buttocks of the dog on the faces of her children.

Robert E. Hensley, 29, 3206 Unicoi Drive Lot No. 2, Unicoi, was charged with two counts of aggravated child abuse and neglect and one count of cruelty to animals.

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn.—A Jonesborough woman who fled the area early last month has been arrested today, according to reports from the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.

Tammy Tilson Elliott, 37, of 3636 Cherokee Road in Jonesborough, was arrested with the help of the United States Marshall Service.
