Couple Arraigned on Child Neglect, Abuse Charges

Justin Barnes, 25, and Sara Turner, 26, of Clarksburg, are each facing four counts of child neglect resulting in injury and four counts of child abuse resulting in injury.

Information from the West Virginia Division of Health and Human resources say their 3-year-old daughter was found to have extensive bruises on her shoulder and legs and a broken wrist; their 2-year-old son had a broken leg, a head injury, hand and fingernail marks around and face injuries, and the 1-month-old girl had two broken ribs, which officials say are from two separate occasions.

FL: Parents arrested on child abuse charges in Nokomis

SARASOTA COUNTY – The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 24-year-old Tiffany Patrzykont of Nokomis and charged her with Child Abuse for Medical Neglect with Great Bodily Harm.

Detectives say Patrzykont failed to give medical staff accurate information to treat her 13-week-old son when she took him to Venice Regional Medical Center on May 16 and again on May 17. When the infant was finally transferred to All Children’s Hospital, doctors determined the infant had been deprived of oxygen and had been smothered.

Men Charged with Child Abuse in Stun Gun Incident

LEXINGTON, N.C. – Two Lexington men have been charged with child abuse for an alleged incident involving a stun gun and two children.

According to police, Brent Rosard Kipp, 22, and Austin Cody Goodwin, 24, used a stun gun to intimidate two children who were with their mother when she visited the men’s Raeford Ave. home May 30.

Rise in child abuse linked to meth

Allegan County saw a spike in child abuse and neglect cases in 2009— an increase that is linked to the county’s increasing methamphetamine production.

Court administrator Michael Day presented the findings to Allegan County commissioners Thursday, May 20.

Day said the number of child abuse and neglect cases rose from 94 cases in 2008 to 179 cases in 2009, and that there was an approximately 300-percent increase since 2005.

OREGON–The search for 7-year-old, Kyron Horman, continues this afternoon with a large compliment of Local, State, and Federal law enforcement officials along with search and rescue crews from all over the region.

At 12:00 p.m. Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office Captain Jason Gates gave a press conference where he talked about the ongoing investigation.  In that conference Captain Gates appealed to the public to “keep the tips coming in”.  He said, since Friday, there have been over 1,200 tips that investigators have received and are in the process of following up.

Level 3 sex offender alert

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public about a level 3 sex offender. He’s identified as 54-year-old Edwin Lloyd, now living as a transient living in Spokane. A child rapist considered likely to reoffend is living as a transient in Spokane County, the sheriff’s office announce today.

Edwin L. Kedish, 54, served 80 months in prison after being convicted of third-degree rape of a child and first-degree child molestation in Pend Oreille County in 1996.

Delaware man charged in rape of 14-yr-old

Delaware State Police troopers have arrested a Felton man in connection with a sexual assault.

The incident took place at 6:30 p.m. June 5 on Slaughter Neck Road, east of Herring Branch Road, Lincoln, said spokesman Sgt. Walter Newton. The victim said she was walking along the road when a man drove by in a pickup, got out, displayed a knife, and forced her into the truck. The man then drove to a remote location and sexually assaulted her, Newton said.

Man sentenced to life for incest, baby deaths

Danial Rinehart received life in prison plus 22 years today in Cass County Circuit Court on convictions of incest, felony murder, statutory rape and abandonment of a corpse.

A jury found him guilty April 20 in a trial that included his daughter’s testimony that he carried on an incestuous relationship with her that began when she was 5 years old and produced four babies.

Only one, a 4-year-old boy, survives.

17-yr old Girl Reports Rape 2-Yrs Later

LEXINGTON, NC–A 38-year-old man was charged with statutory rape after deputies investigated a report from a 17-year-old girl who said she had a sexual relationship with him in 2007.Jessie Lee Wall is facing four counts of statutory rape, four counts of statutory sex offense, two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child and committing a crime against nature in the incident which deputies said happened on Regan Road.

Dead children’s father arrested on sex charges

A man whose wife is accused of killing their children in Spain has appeared in court on child sex offences.

Martin Smith is charged with rape, attempted rape, gross indecency and indecent assault of a child under 16.

The charges are unrelated to those facing Lianne Smith, 43, being held in Barcelona on suspicion of murdering Rebecca, five, and 11-month-old Daniel.

Man charged with sexually abusing two children

A Westmoreland man was arrested Sunday, June 6, for child rape, according to the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office.

Damon Carver, 35, is accused of sexually abusing two children, aged 17 and 10. One victim told authorities that 20 to 50 instances of sexual abuse occurred over a three-year span.

Ex-basketball coach pleads guilty to child rape

WOBURN (FOX 25 / myfoxboston.com) – A former Melrose YMCA girls basketball coach has pled guilty to 20 charges on Monday, including child rape charges.

James Conner, 52, was sentenced to 20 to 30 years in state prison followed by 10 years supervised probation for the rape charges.

5-mth old baby battered beyond belief

Fery, a five-month-old baby at the center of a shocking child abuse case, is being treated at the Koja Hospital in North Jakarta. The battered baby’s arms and legs were all broken — his limbs are now encased in plaster.

Aris Merdeka Sirait, secretary general of the Indonesian Commission for Child Protection (KPAI), said Fery and his older sister, Ica, 5, would be cared for in a safe house for abused children.

Bikers Against Child Abuse

Walden resident Corinne Wyatt works in the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office’s felony warrants division. She spends her weekends as a member of the Brazos Chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse, a non-profit organization that provides support and safety to abused children.

By counseling abused children BACA provides positive influences and helps navigate the children the court system during what can be a very traumatic time in their lives. Once a month, the group treat the children to activities like bowling, roller skating or pool parties.
