2-YO Hospitalized With 6 Broken Bones
Panama City – A local man and woman, facing aggravated child abuse charges, are each being held in the Bay County jail on $250,000 bond. Panama City Police arrested the couple early yesterday morning, after a relative took their child to the hospital with 6 broken bones. Panama City Police arrested 21 year old Courtney Shaunte Lucille Hawkins and 25 year old Joseph Tyrell Duhon early Tuesday morning on a number of drug and weapons charges, but it was a child abuse investigation that initially brought authorities to their apartment.
One of Hawkins’ relative showed up at Bay Medical Center with Hawkins’ two year old daughter. The child had 6 broken bones. Department of Children and Families investigators say they’re not aware of any other abuse complaints involving this family, but this case is not rare.
