Toledo man arrested in string of rapes–Suspect is caught after police chase

Toledo police arrested a city man with a long criminal record Friday in connection with a recent string of rapes and attempted abductions that centered on South and East Toledo but spread fear throughout the city. Vincent Vernell Williams, 30, of 615 Cherry St. was arrested Friday night in the 600 block of Fassett Street in East Toledo after a car and foot chase and was charged with two counts of rape, police Chief Michael Navarre said.
