Stepfather Gets LIFE For Raping 10-YO Girl, Setting Her On Fire

(WICHITA, Kan.)—A Haysville man will serve life plus 165 months in prison for raping his step-daughter, and setting her body on fire. Chris Newberry was sentenced Thursday for attempted murder, arson and rape charges. A judge also ruled Newberry will not be eligible for parole until 2047. Newberry raped the 10-year-old girl and then set her on fire in 2009. Prosecutors say Newberry got his four year old daughter out of the room, he then poured lighter fluid on his step daughter and lit her on fire.
