Man Arrested On Child Abuse & Murder Charges

A 22-year-old Silver Springs man was arrested on Nov. 23 on charges of child abuse and murder following the death of a two-year-old child. Cody Wallace was arrested on those charges and is being held in the Lyon County Jail in Yerington. His bail on the child abuse charge was set at $75,000, and there is a no bail hold on the murder charge. Lyon County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a home in Silver Springs on a report of an incident involving a toddler who was having difficulty breathing, according to LCSO Sgt. Cherie Rye, who added that the young boy’s mother and biological father were present, along with Wallace.
