Louisville man had video of 3-year-old being raped

LOUISVILLE, KY — Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man after they allegedly found illegal movies and images on his computer. According to an arrest report, 18-year-old Cody Huff used file-sharing programs to download movies of child pornography from the Internet. SANTA ANA — A registered sex offender accused of molesting a 5-year-old boy in a public restroom in October was sentenced Monday to nine years in federal prison for possession of child pornography. Nicholas James Needham pleaded guilty in federal court in October to one felony count each of lewd acts on a child under 14. A mother has been accused of injecting her teenage daughters with heroin before sending them off to school. Police were alerted after a witness from the school said the girls, aged 14 and 16, appeared to be under the influence of drugs. Investigators searched Parker’s home in Laurelville, Ohio, and recovered evidence of drug use. Five Students SHOT During High School Shooting

Five students have been injured in a shooting this morning at Chardon High School. According to the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI, a suspect has been arrested. Scott Wilson of the FBI said they believe there was only one shooter, but the incident remains under investigation. Initial reports were that four students were shot. But at a news conference about 10:30 a.m., officials said there was a fifth victim. The youth who was arrested had fled the high school building, but was caught on Woodin Road in Chardon Township, a law officer said. The boy is being processed at the sheriff’s office, according to reports about 9 a.m. Both the sheriff’s office and Wilson declined to provide further detail of the events that unfolded in the high school cafeteria about 7:45 a.m.  READ MORE HERE

Police are hunting a man who beat his girlfriend’s two-year-old son to death because he would not eat his dinner. Juan Garcia, 18, had moved in to the home of Wendy Rogel-Pagasa, 18, in Phoenix, Arizona, only days before he killed her son, Jorge, in a fit of rage. According to court documents released yesterday, Garcia became increasingly angry when the toddler would not eat the food he had brought home last Friday. New Haven stepmom guilty in toddler’s death

Mount Clemens— A New Haven woman was found guilty Monday of fatally beating and sexually assaulting her toddler stepdaughter in November 2010. A jury convicted Renee Marie King, 30, of first-degree felony murder, child abuse and criminal sexual conduct in the Nov. 20, 2010, death of 2-year-old Lily Furneaux-Wolfenbarger. PROJECT “UNBREAKABLE”

In October of last year, Grace Brown began a photography project called Project Unbreakable. Grace uses photography to help heal sexual abuse survivors by photographing them with posters that hold quotes from their attackers. Rape survivor and advocate for victims of sexual abuse, Yvonne Moss, describes the project as a way for victims to take the power back of the words that were once used against them.

Grace plans on photographing survivors for as long as she possibly can. Her goal is to spread light, awareness, and healing for those who have been affected.

SAN DIEGO — A prominent Poway attorney and a nurse were sentenced Friday for organizing a scheme to sell babies for $100,000 each. Theresa Erickson, 44, specialized in reproductive law. She pleaded guilty last year to a conspiracy to commit wire fraud. A San Diego federal judge sentenced Erickson to 5 months in prison followed by 7 months of home confinement. She was also fined $70,000 and must undergo 3 years of supervised release. Prosecutors said Erickson and others sold a dozen unborn babies to prospective parents for $100,000 each.  READ MORE HERE

DETROIT, MI– A fight over a seat at a baby shower triggered the killing of a 9-month-old boy, according to the victim’s grandmother. Delric Miller IV died Monday as he slept on the couch in his home on the 8400 block of Greenview Avenue. Police said someone fired at the house with an AK-47-type assault rifle about 4:30 a.m., leaving behind 37 shells. William De Jesus stabbed himself and the rest of his family hours after breaking in to an elderly man’s motor home and shooting him dead. On February 15, 1996, Lynn Owen Cozart was found guilty of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, endangering the welfare of children, and three counts of indecent assault in the Beaver County Court of Common Pleas, Beaver County, Pennsylvania. These charges stemmed from the discovery that Cozart had molested his three juvenile children from 1984 through 1994. Cozart failed to appear for his sentencing on April 8, 1996, and has been a fugitive since that time. A federal arrest warrant charging Cozart with unlawful flight to avoid confinement was issued in the Western District of Pennsylvania on March 22, 2002.  READ MORE HERE

A Queens school employee has been charged with sexually abusing six 9 and 10-year-old schoolgirls, becoming the fifth school worker in New York to be arrested for sexual crimes in recent weeks. Brett Picou, 30, of Public School 52 in Springfield Gardens, is accused of spanking one of the girls, grabbing the children’s buttocks as they walked up stairs and fondling their buttocks over their clothing when he hugged them. Roy Ralph Estrada, a former member of Frank Zappa‘s group the Mothers of Invention and original member of Little Feat, will serve 25 years in prison on child molestation charges. According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Estrada, 68, abused a female family member in Tarrant County after being released from a California prison for another child abuse case. “The victim’s family was unaware that he was a convicted sex offender,” Tarrant County district attorney office spokesperson Melody McDonald said. “Estrada was sentenced to 25 years in a plea bargain agreement and is not eligible for parole.”  READ MORE HERE
