The 10-year-old girl who video-recorded her rapist using a mobile phone as he coerced her into a sexual act about two years ago can best be described as empowerment at its best.
Rape on minors has always posed a headache for the justice delivery system because vital evidence is sometimes lost as children tend to forget what exactly would have transpired. The sad reality, however, is that young girls have been infected with HIV through rape and this has created a serious problem in families as they try to come to terms with such cases.
