Joseph Strickland, 23, was originally taken into custody late last year after he borrowed his personal camera to someone who subsequently uncovered a video of the suspect raping a girl.

Southfield— Motorists accused of driving drunk with children in the car, like the Southfield woman whose daughter passed a note last month to a bank teller seeking help, have drawn attention to what authorities say is an under-reported problem that puts hundreds of kids at risk every year in Michigan. Child endangerment charges can be levied when an impaired person drives with a child under age 16. But because the young victims are often either unaware or incapable of knowing what’s happening, or reluctant or too fearful to report it, most cases never lead to arrests. Even the state Department of Human Services can’t say how often reported offenses occur across Michigan.

The BACA Victims Benefit tonight at Third and Walnut is the first in a series of fast approaching events geared towards helping those who need it most. The Montgomery County chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse will hold their annual Victims Benefit tonight at Third and Walnut Bar and Grill, with all proceeds going to victims services in Norristown.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Two Memphis boys, aged 7 and 9, have admitted to raping a toddler. The victim’s 5-year-old brother told their mother about the abuse after he saw two neighborhood boys abusing his 2-year-old sister, according to The Commercial Appeal. RACINE, Wis — Samuel Curtis Johnson III, a billionaire member of the family that runs the SC Johnson & Son household products company, has been charged with repeated sexual assault of a child, officials said on Friday. Man gets life in prison for murder of 8-month-old

ELYRIA — Kevin Kimbrough, who could have faced the death penalty for the death of 8-month-old Jayden Davidson, pleaded guilty before Lorain County Common Pleas Judge Edward Zaleski. Kimbrough, 27, of Lorain, was sentenced by Zaleski to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 30 years.

Upstate NY soldier charged in 4-month-old girl’s slaying–Couple was trying to adopt baby

WATERTOWN, N.Y. — A Fort Drum soldier who was wounded during a 2009 tour in Afghanistan was charged Friday with killing a four-month-old baby he and his wife were trying to adopt. Jeffrey Sliker, 23, was arraigned Friday in Watertown City Court in northern New York on a second-degree murder charge in the death of Laurne Clark, who was also known as Mollie Sliker. The child was found dead at Sliker’s home Wednesday after his wife alerted authorities. An autopsy determined she died of a blunt-force head injury, and Sliker was arrested.

Jesuits pay record $166.1 million in child abuse case

(CNN) The Society of Jesus’ Pacific Northwest unit and its insurer have agreed to pay a record $166.1 million to about 500 people who were sexually and psychologically abused as children by Jesuit priests from the 1940s to the 1990s, the Washington State Association of Justice said in statement Friday.

A former Council Bluffs youth pastor allegedly told the teens he is accused of sexually exploiting that he was trying to help them gain “sexual purity in the eyes of God.” Brent Girouex, 31, told Council Bluffs police detectives in February that starting in 2007 he had sexual contact with four young men who he knew while he was a youth pastor for Victory Fellowship Church. Pottawattamie County Attorney Matt Wilber said the number has risen since Girouex first talked with police on Feb. 16. Now, Wilber said there are at least eight people who have come forward.

NEWPORT BEACH — Police have arrested a man wanted for kidnapping and raping a 12-year-old girl in Fullerton while dressed as a clown. Jose Guadalupe Jimenez, 41, was arrested Friday morning in Newport Beach, more than 9 years after the crime. Detectives say a DNA match linked Jimenez to the kidnapping and rape, which happened on Jan. 19, 2002.

Police have arrested a mother and father who investigators say prostituted their teenage daughters. Police say Anthony and Kathy Hart offered people sexual favors from their 13 and 14 year old daughters in exchange for money, food, and clothes.  According to the arrest report, the girls met with men at various locations in Berea, Richmond, Mount Vernon, Somerset, and Lancaster.

International legal frameworks are hindering police efforts to catch paedophiles on Facebook.

Australian Federal Police (AFP) high-tech collection and capability manager Grant Edwards told a joint select committee this morning that the mutual legal assistance treaty with the US is outdated and not designed to allow for a rapid response to online crime. WATONGA, Oklahoma — Authorities have taken booked a man into jail on a murder complaint of an 8-year-old Watonga girl. A man found his eight-year-old daughter Rosalyn Reynolds’ body around 5 a.m. Wednesday behind an apartment building at 500 Leach Street in Watonga. Police said the father saw the girl’s cousin, 20-year-old James Daukei, in the field with the body. Daukei ran from the scene when confronted by the girl’s father and two other men.
