Dominick Calhoun’s killer COMPETENT to stand trail

Flint — The 24-year-old man accused of torturing and beating 4-year-old Dominick Calhoun to death was found competent to stand trial.
Brandon Hayes, formerly of Argentine Township was in 67th District Court in Flint Tuesday morning for a competency hearing. Hayes is facing life in prison since he has been charged with nine felony counts, including torture, child abuse, murder and drug charges. He remains lodged in the Genesee County Jail.
Hayes is accused of beating Dominick over several days, beginning on Thursday, April 8, through Sunday, April 11. Investigators on the case said Hayes allegedly beat the boy, as discipline, after he wet his pants while sitting on the living room sofa.
