Felony charges » Three children were injured in her care, documents state.
A 37-year-old Murray baby sitter has been charged with felony child abuse because three children were allegedly injured in her care dating back to June 2008.
The Salt Lake County Attorney’s Office filed three counts of second-degree felony child abuse Monday against Kami K. Tollefson.
She is accused of hurting the three children — 16 months, 18 months and 13 months old — at her home near 1200 West and Bullion Street, charging documents state.
The first toddler, according to doctors at Primary Children’s Medical Center, suffered a near fatal injury to the pancreas on June 24, 2008, that resulted from massive blunt force trauma, charging documents state.
Parents of the child went to the hospital after noticing the child was pale and groaning in pain.
Tollefson had told police the toddler, who was in her care, had slipped on a toy car, fell and bumped its head earlier that day, but was unaware of any other injuries, charging documents state.
